For over three decades, Mark Sherman has guided individuals and multigenerational families through the complexities of wealth management. Drawing on a lifelong fascination with financial markets—first sparked as a child and refined through an early career in accounting and capital-markets trading—Mark strives to help clients make informed decisions at every stage of life.
Mark began his professional journey as an accountant at Merrill Lynch before moving to the investment side of the business, where he traded repurchase agreements, managed government bond portfolios for Marine Midland Bank, and served as a proprietary trader in fixed income, commodities and currencies. In 1994 he transitioned to wealth management, bringing institutional-level insight directly to families seeking thoughtful, goals-based advice.
Today Mark leads a family practice at Morgan Stanley alongside his daughter, Arielle, also a Financial Advisor. Together they emphasize open dialogue among parents, children and grandchildren, encouraging every generation to understand both the opportunities and responsibilities that accompany wealth. Their process integrates investment management, cash-flow analysis and estate-planning considerations into a cohesive financial plan designed to evolve with clients’ objectives.
Mark’s disciplined yet personal approach draws on dual degrees in accounting and economics from Temple University. Mark’s advanced designations reinforce his comprehensive service model. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Morgan Stanley Financial Planning Specialist, an Alternative Investments Director and a Lending Specialist—roles that provide clients with access to specialized planning tools, alternative investment opportunities, and tailored lending solutions.
Active in his community, Mark believes in giving back not only with pocket but with his time. He serves or has serve on the Board of Rutgers Preparatory School, Synagogues, Learning Ally, and many more organization he has donated his time to. Away from the office, he enjoys beach walks, working out and, most of all, time with family—especially the opportunity to work side by side with Arielle, a long-held dream now realized.
