My Story and Services

Having grown up in a prosperous middle class family, graduating Valedictorian of my high school, I was headed to Vassar College when I learned that my father had lost all of our money speculating in commodities. That changed everything for me--my career choice, my attitude about risk, as well as creating a passion to help others build and preserve wealth. Instead of going to medical school, as my parents had wanted (but could no longer afford), I opted for a Government-sponsored Ph.D. program at Johns Hopkins, where I had a laser-like focus on getting the Ph.D. and a job in public health. Thanks to my fluency in French and Spanish, I was recruited by the Pan American Health Organization, the Regional office of the World Health Organization, as a Senior Scientist to conduct a study in South America and the Caribbean. My position morphed into other duties, and I was appointed a Regional adviser, a consultant to the Governments throughout the hemisphere.

For 11 years, I traveled constantly and simultaneously pursued an MBA at Wharton on the weekends between trips to South America. I was confident that a US corporation might leverage my background and experience in Latin America. Unfortunately, neither my fluency in Spanish, nor my background at WHO/PAHO, nor my experience as an advisor was a positive in my pursuit of a career change. My financial advisor suggested I consider becoming a financial advisor. Thinking back now, it was the right choice for me. It has given me the opportunity to build and preserve wealth for clients-- something I am very passionate about.

Retirement planning is central to my practice, as my average client is over 55, lacks a pension and looks to me for guidance. I believe that all clients nearing retirement should have a written goals based plan including daily expenses, travel, health care, other contingencies, and of course, wealth transfer. In an uncertain world, I strive to provide the guidance that provides my clients with a greater level of comfort.

    Hear from Our Clients

I am just now realizing, I have trusted you to look after my small book of business and I couldn’t have asked for a better Financial Advisor. When my late husband’s business failed not once but twice, you were there to give me good and sound financial advice. I really appreciate that you care about me as a person, mother and grandmother, helping me look after my family. Again thank for being there for me.
