    Kevin R. Lynch
    Managing Director

    Kevin Lynch works closely with a select clientele of ultra high net worth individuals and family offices, helping them understand, articulate and address their wealth management needs. Kevin’s goal is to help his clients craft customized plans to achieve their long-term financial objectives in a risk-adjusted manner through all market scenarios. His approach involves tailored asset allocations, diversification and hedging of concentrated positions, and optimizing cash strategies.
    Kevin has been recognized by Barron’s as one of the Top 1000 Wealth Advisors in the U.S. as well as by the Financial Times as one of the Top 400 Financial Advisors in the US (2014-20018). He was also named to Forbes’ Best-In-State Wealth Advisors 2018-2019. Kevin was a founding member of the Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Advisory Council, a select group that provides a direct, two-way dialogue between senior management and those advisors closest to the firm’s most important clients. The views articulated by the Council fully inform every important strategic and tactical business decision of the division. 

    Kevin joined Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management in 2009, having built a very successful practice at Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown, serving tier-1 clients. Prior to starting his investment career in 1996 with Alex. Brown & Sons in Chicago, Kevin spent ten years as an engineer for Baxter Healthcare, designing and installing equipment in their medical packaging manufacturing facility. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing engineering technology from Bradley University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Kevin and his wife, Maria, keep active with raising their four children, Luke, Molly, Tommy and Bridget.

    Jonathan DeFreytas
    Senior Vice President

    Jonathan helps entrepreneurs, senior executives, and family business owners create comprehensive wealth management plans that keep pace with the dynamic changes in their lives. He works with clients during times of transition, preparing for a liquidity event and planning for the next chapter in their personal and professional lives. He helps them identify and prioritize their most important goals and then works closely with their attorneys, accountants and other trusted advisors to develop a wealth management road map that reflects best practices. To assist in these efforts, he draws upon his +18 years of experience and the significant resources of Morgan Stanley and Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management.

    Jonathan was named to Forbes’ Best-In-State Wealth Advisors in 2019. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2009, Jonathan was a vice president and client advisor with Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc. (DB) in Chicago. He joined DB in 2003 and quickly became a partner with one of the top wealth management teams in the division.

    He has worked with numerous entrepreneurs and families that have built and sold businesses. Helping them develop everything from short-term cash management strategies and custom strategic and tactical asset allocations to multigenerational estate plans and philanthropic initiatives. He also has considerable experience hedging and monetizing concentrated equity positions. Jonathan began his financial services career in 1999 working as an analyst and then a client advisor with Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown in Philadelphia.
    Jonathan has a B.S. in marketing and international business from Penn State University. He and his wife Tara live in Chicago with their two children.

    Heather has spent over 25 years in the Private Wealth advisory industry.  Her depth of experience has provided the necessary skill set and ability to anticipate and perform the effective administration of the team’s clients.  She provides a plethora of  support services to clients, focusing on  account opening, cash flow management, subscription documents, reporting and a host of other administrative inquiries.  Heather earned a BA in Corporate Finance from Drake University. Heather and her husband Jeff have two sons, Chris and Mitchell.

    Tara has spent over 16 years gathering the skills and experience needed to help highly successful families address their financial needs.  She provides a broad range of essential support services to clients and handles account opening, trade execution, subscription documents, cash flow management, reporting and a host of other administrative inquiries.  Tara earned a BA in Marketing from the University of Dayton.  She and her husband John keep active raising their four sons Jack, Declan, Cormac and Brogan.
