About John Givens

John Givens began his financial services career with Boettcher and Co in 1980 in Boulder, Colo. and became a Partner 4 years later. Over the years, a series of corporate buyouts ensued ,resulting in the Firm ultimately being owned by Wells Fargo. John has been a Premier advisor for his Firm since 1991. In 2006 he teamed with Kent Welley to form “Givens and Welley Wealth Management Group” at Wells Fargo Advisors . In August of 2017, they moved the practice to Morgan Stanley . John is among a select group of advisors within Morgan Stanley who are given discretionary authority to manage portfolios through the Portfolio Management (PM) program.

John holds Series 7, Series 65 and Series 63 registrations and also holds insurance licenses for Life and Annuity and Long Term Care Insurance . He grew up in Panama and he graduated from Canal Zone College in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He has been active in the Boulder community and was a co-founder and Board Member of Front Range Academy. He also coached baseball at Boulder High school.
He enjoys spending time with his wife Gail (married 41 years) and his 2 Daughters and still enjoys playing golf and softball.

About Neil Lubar

Neil Lubar is passionate about  working with individuals and their families to create wealth management solutions that can help improve their lives.  He understands the complex financial needs of high net worth individuals, business owners, real estate investors and professionals and enjoys bringing clarity and confidence to their entire financial picture.
Neil joined Morgan Stanley as a Financial Advisor in 2011, and he brings more than 20 years of experience in the real estate investment industry.  His  knowledge helps clients incorporate their illiquid assets, like real estate or business holdings, into their overall plan.

Neil uses a discovery process centered around four components of the clients life:  1) Relationships; 2) Activities & Interests; 3) Ideas & Objectives; and 4) Resources.  A comprehensive analysis of this information brings Neil an understanding of the client’s priorities and life picture.  By understanding these components, this allows him to create a solid financial plan and a clear investment solution that can help the client achieve their goals.  

Neil received the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation (CCIM).  Neil earned his MBA with an emphasis in real estate finance from the University of Denver and earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Neil and his wife, Paola, reside in Boulder  with their daughter, Sofia.  Neil enjoys running each morning with his two golden retrievers.  He appreciates the great skiing in Colorado and also likes to read in his free time.  Neil supports a variety of charities and was formerly the Treasurer and President of the board for the Center for People with Disabilities.

About Susan Lubar

For more than 40 years, Susan has helped clients reach their financial goals and strives to become a trusted advisor, capable of guiding clients through turmoil and trepidation while helping to grow and protect their assets.  Susan joined Smith Barney, a predecessor firm to Morgan Stanley, in 1981, and through hard work and successful client relationships, she rose to become the Branch Manager of the Madison WI office in 1986–1991.  She earned a B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin.   

Susan is a leader in her community and generously volunteers her time and experience to improve the lives of others.  In 1999, she was a founding member of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure in Madison, WI, serving several consecutive terms on the Board of Directors and then the Advisory board. In 2013, she served as one of the Honorary Chairs of the Race for the Cure in South Central Wisconsin, where 75% of the funds raised stay in the community to fight breast cancer. Susan was also a founding member of the International Women’s Forum-Wisconsin chapter serving as President of that organization for over 10 years. She has served on the Boards of United Way, the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association and Athletic Board. She is currently serving on the Boards of The First Tee of South Central Wisconsin, By Women For Women Inc., and the University of Wisconsin Research Park. 

When Susan is not volunteering, she enjoys golfing, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

About Kent A Welley

Kent Welley began his career in the financial services industry as a stock broker in 1985 with Boettcher & Co., which was a small independent brokerage firm well known in the Rocky Mountain Region. In 1994
He moved to Merrill Lynch as a financial consultant and in 1996 joined a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors where he was the Branch Manager until 2006. In 2006, Kent returned to the Financial
Advisor ranks and along with John Givens formed “Givens & Welley Wealth Management Group” of Wells Fargo Advisors. In August of 2017, Kent and John moved their practice to Morgan Stanley.

Kent is among a select group of Financial Advisors within Morgan Stanley who are given discretionary authority to manage portfolios through the Portfolio Management (PM) program. He currently carries registrations for the Series 7, 9, 10, 63, and Series 65. He also has insurance licenses for Life and Annuities.

Kent earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Colorado. He has enjoyed past board memberships with the YMCA and The Foundation for Boulder Valley Schools (now called Impact on Education). Kent is currently a board member for the Stan McKee Reading Foundation.

He enjoys skiing, surfing, mountain biking and working with young people. He has traveled the world extensively and enjoy seeing and understanding other societies and cultures. About Lorraine Bonner

Lorraine began working in the Financial Services industry in 2003 and joined Morgan Stanley in 2021. Before working in Wealth Management, Lorraine worked in Business and Leisure Travel. Originally from West Yorkshire, England, she worked with clients to customize around the world trips, family reunions, group business gatherings and more. From there, Lorraine relocated to San Francisco where she was offered an opportunity to work in business banking for Wells Fargo in their Real Estate Planning and Commercial Lending Group for 17 years. Now, she is happy to be meeting new people and helping them reach their financial goals as part of The LWG Group at Morgan Stanley.

Lorraine is a mother, a caregiver, and a friend. She has a very personal approach with each and every client. She often works with clients to help them plan their family vacations, their children's sports activities, or assist in relocation jobs/homes. Lorraine lives in Lyons, CO with her husband, two children, and her dog, Baxter. Outside of work, Lorraine enjoys volunteering at her children's school, camping, hiking, skiing, and traveling.

About Riley Burns

Riley began working in the Financial Services industry in 2020, and joined Morgan Stanley in 2021. He graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Financial Planning and Investment Analysis. Riley enjoys helping people reach their goals. Riley has had a lot of experience working in customer service, as he worked at his father's restaurant all throughout high school and college. He also has experience refereeing intramural sports.

Riley is passionate about being a part of the LWG Group at Morgan Stanley. He believes the team truly embraces holistic planning and understands the value it can bring to a client's overall financial picture. The whole group prides themselves on the services they provide and are always happy to help clients in any way they can. Outside of work, Riley enjoys being active outdoors through a variety of activities such as skiing, cycling, hiking, and trail running.
