Welcome

Lloyd Iden, Senior Vice President of the Iden Group at Morgan Stanley, focuses on helping clients navigate their financial life by developing and implementing long-term financial plans. With 30 years of experience as a financial coach and Certified Financial Planner®, Lloyd and his team provide individual solutions that help clients save for retirement, college, major purchases, manage debt, pass on wealth to future generations, and insurance coverage.

Lloyd believes that a goal without a plan is only a dream. The most rewarding part of his career is helping people navigate their financial life by simplifying complicated issues through comprehensive financial planning. He always begins by gathering, then analyzing, his client’s information.

Where are you now and where do you want to be in the future?

Working with you, Lloyd will create a process designed to outline the steps required to help turn your goals, which may seem out of reach, into very approachable and attainable objectives. He incorporates a team of professionals to provide individual solutions in estate planning strategies, portfolio construction, insurance customization, and liability management. Lloyd continuously reviews his clients’ financial plans to ensure that he accounts for all the changes life brings, and he dedicates himself to being a full-service, hands on advisor to all of his clients.

Lloyd received a degree in Business Administration from Eckerd College in 1992 and began his career as a wealth advisor in 1994. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1997 and spent time as the assistant branch manager in the Bethesda, Maryland office and as the branch manager in the Germantown, Maryland office. As of January 2021, Lloyd and his team have more than $300 million in assets under management, and serves individual, business, and non-profit clients across the country.

In his free time, he is an avid outdoorsman. You can find him skiing, fly fishing, hiking, camping and spending time with his dogs. Fitness is also a very important part of his life - running, biking, swimming and hitting the gym are among his favorite activities.

Planning Your Future

Before we begin to invest your assets, we first help you create a road map to your future. Together, we will progress through four stages as we develop a holistic plan customized to your requirements:
1. Discover
Most individuals lack clearly defined financial goals. We will help you answer these and other critical questions as you plan for your future:

- How much money do I need to retire comfortably?
- Do I have a strategy to pay for my child's education expenses?
- How can I transfer assets to my family while avoiding or minimizing estate taxes?
- Can I afford a major purchase such as a vacation home or a home renovation while still putting my other goals within reach?

Once we understand what you want to accomplish, we will explore your current financial position and the amount of time before you expect to reach your goals.
2. Propose a plan
Once we understand your goals and where you stand today, we incorporate all the information into an integrated financial plan. As your financial coach, we will help you determine if:

- Your goals are realistic
- You are currently living within your means
- You will be able to save enough for your future
- Any changes to your current portfolio are needed based on your time horizon and risk tolerance

Using this information, we'll suggest an appropriate course of action to increase your odds of achieving your goals.
3. Implementing your plan
Starting but not ending with the intellectual resources of Morgan Stanley, we will develop a diversified portfolio matched to your goals, financial situation and risk parameters. Your plan will be customized to your unique requirements, and will incorporate all of your assets, even those we do not manage directly.
4. Continue to monitor your plan
A financial plan is never done. Your life and the markets are always evolving and your goals will reflect those changes. After creating your plan, we will stay in close contact with you and keep your plan up to date.

10The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) aware investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because ESG criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
