Welcome

Lisa Shelton is a Senior Vice President and Family Wealth Director at Morgan Stanley, serving busy professionals and families across multiple generations throughout the United States since 1999. Forbes has recognized Lisa as one of America’s Top Women Wealth Advisors and a Best-in-State Wealth Advisor. Clients engage Lisa to help simplify their lives and grow their wealth so they can have the financial freedom to enjoy the lifestyle, career, and retirement they’ve envisioned.

Having embarked on a successful real estate career at 18, Lisa constructed her first home at 19 and successfully passed her Series 7 securities exam before her 21st birthday. With 26 years of investment experience and implementation, her passion for assisting clients has only intensified. Lisa’s journey underscores the value of hard work, the motivation required for success, and the significance of educating the next generation—principles evident in both her professional endeavors and personal life.

In an era where clients have unprecedented access to investment solutions and information, Lisa contends that success lies not in day-to-day market movements, but in the overall process. Lisa focuses on navigating clients through pivotal life moments, addressing the intricate intersection of their emotional, investment, and financial needs. Regardless of age or life stage, crafting a comprehensive roadmap for your financial future and working with a caring advisor who appreciates your unique definition of financial success is vital for realizing your vision.

Lisa married her high school sweetheart and had two children. After attending Boise State University, her daughter joined Morgan Stanley in September of 2022, while her son is currently an electrical apprentice with the IBEW. During her time away from the office, Lisa can be found in search of a new outdoor family adventure, refining her photography skills, working to maintain a healthy fitness level, or joyfully chasing a tiny white ball around the golf course.

    Tax Harvesting
Current U.S, Federal income tax law allows you to offset your capital gains with capital losses you've incurred during that tax year, or with capital losses carried over from a prior tax year.

If you engage in tax loss harvesting, you must also keep in mind the “wash sale” rules. Under these rules, if you purchase the same or substantially identical securities within 30 days before or after the sale of the securities that generated the loss, the loss will be disallowed. Tax-aware strategies seek to reduce capital gains. There is no guarantee that they will eliminate them.
