"There Is Always A Better Way" #AlwaysABetterWay

My father started this enterprise over sixty years ago. His motto was “there is always a better way.” The quality that I respected most about my dad was his character. His father died the summer prior to his senior year of high school. He decided to sacrifice his admission to an Ivy League school to remain at home, run the family grocery store, and assist his mother with the care of his younger sisters while graduating Temple University Beta Gamma Sigma.

When I was sixteen I was cut from the varsity basketball team. For the kind of guy I was; this was a tragedy. I was supposed to start, but my allergies depleted my energy during tryouts. As soon as I arrived home my head was buried under the covers in the dark. Later my dad entered my room and turned on the lights. He handed me John Wooden’s book on basketball and said “there is always a better way.”

He instructed me to meet with the coach the next day; to ask him what I needed to do better. The next time I made the varsity team.

Fast forward to the present, we established a multi-generational team with a focus on the principals of entrepreneurial companies. The values of family, continuity, tenacity and imagination are metabolized in our framework. “There is always a better way.” This is the way we compete for the future.

The Cash Flow Conversation #HappyRetirement

Tab Image
We want all of our clients to have meaningful lives.

The heart of our investment process is the twice a year cash flow conversation. During this exchange, we will talk about your life and what is happening.

At the end of this chat, we will re-balance the portfolio to maintain your risk budget and sell down sufficient cash to help meet your objectives for at least the next six months.

Sometimes an extra cash buffer may be needed in periods of stress. Ideally, our cash flow ritual begins two years in advance of the journey of retirement. The process is not a byproduct of chance, rather practice.

Our mission is always to help you sustain your allocation and quality of life.
