About Gerald Ferrante
For nearly 37 years, Gerry has been with Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firms. He began his career in the industry as a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch prior to joining the firm in 1985 as a National Training Officer. Throughout his career, he held various positions including Branch Manager, Regional Director and Complex Manager. In 2020 through 2021 he served as Special Advisor in the Northeast Region utilizing his extended experience in the business. As of January 2022, Gerry joined The Liberty Group as a Financial Advisor. He likes to say, “I have come full circle in a career that I have cherished, with a firm and its leadership that I have the utmost respect for with colleagues that I am proud to work with and love.” He further adds, I consider it a privilege to continue to strive to embody Morgan Stanley’s Core Values in serving our clients.”
Gerry has served on the Branch Manager Council, National Recruiting Council, Fixed Income Advisory Board, the firm’s Legal Advisory Board, and as a FINRA arbitrator. He was named one of the top 100 Wall Street Managers by On Wall Street Magazine many times over*. Gerry has also represented the firm in the Wall Street Journal and Registered Rep Magazine, and made appearances on the CBS Nightly News and on national television in Japan.
Named as an Honoree at the 2011 Gala, Gerry has been actively involved in the Northern New Jersey chapter of the American Cancer Society as well as the Northern New Jersey MS Society. He is also a member of the Columbus Citizen’s Foundation where he and his wife also sponsor a scholarship for the private education of a needy high school student. Gerry is also an active supporter of the Marine Corp Council as well as Hope For the Warriors annually during Fleet Week. He and his wife Pam, are also sponsors of K-9’s for Warriors, an organization that finds, trains and unites support dogs for veterans in need. Continuing his philanthropic endeavors and under his guidance, the complex was the recipient of the Presidential Service Award for excellent volunteering efforts during Global Volunteer Month in 2011 and 2013.
Gerry was presented with the prestigious 2016 Corporate Partnership Award by MJHS for his work with Menorah Home and Hospital in his home town Brooklyn, New York. In addition to normal nursing and rehabilitation services, Menorah’s inpatient hospice residence is the first in New York City to care for children as well as adults. This has been of particular interest to Gerry as he is also a supporter of The Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.
Gerry was named a Maker at the end of 2019. This honor is in recognition of Gerry’s support of Woman in the corporate and private sector. He is most proud of that recognition as he was nominated by the many women he had been privileged to work with. Most recently, Gerry was honored by Statement Arts in 2021 at their annual golf outing for the philanthropic work promoting music and the arts within NYC’s public schools for under privileged students.
Gerry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History, Education and Economics from SUNY Oneonta and a Master of Arts in Public Affairs from the W. Averell Harriman School for Management and Public Policy, SUNY Stony Brook. Most recently he was named Alumni of Distinction by SUNY Oneonta. He also endows a scholarship there so that a student in need may expand their education by studying overseas.
Gerry is an avid golfer, enthusiastic supporter of all New York sports teams. He and his wife love to travel to all parts of the world. Gerry and his wife Pam live in Sea Girt, New Jersey and have two grown daughters, Debra and Danielle. Danielle is married to son-in-law Cristian who now have a new addition to the family, baby Christian.
