Leonard's Bio

Leonard M. Cohen, CFP®

As a Financial Advisor and Certified Financial Planner, Leonard Cohen, CFP®, has 17 years of experience and is responsible for advising the high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and families of the 360 Group at Morgan Stanley. As a Family Wealth Advisor, Leonard has earned a title that less than 300 of Morgan Stanley’s 17,000 Financial Advisors can claim.

Leonard also works with his clients’ respective trusts, estates, foundations, endowments and pension plans. In conjunction with Morgan Stanley’s platform, he works closely with his clients’ trusted tax and legal advisors on all matters, including tax and estate planning, concentrated stock positions, the sale of privately held businesses and pension plan sponsorship.

Leonard’s extensive educational credentials and professional experience allow him a unique insight into the estate planning process. After graduating cum laude from the American University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Economics, he earned a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from the George Washington University National Law Center. Leonard went on to earn a Master’s in Law (LL.M.) in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law. Leonard oversaw the estate planning practice of the Washington, D.C. law firm, Grossberg, Yochelson, Fox & Beyda, LLP. Although he does not practice law today, Leonard is licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

In his free time Leonard enjoys traveling, playing "old man soccer" and spending time with his family.
