About Elizabeth McNeilly
Betsy is a Certified Financial Planner TM and Executive Director at Morgan Stanley. With energy and determination, Betsy empowers clients to achieve new levels of success through a disciplined and personalized approach to investment management. With more than 35 years of industry experience, she focuses on meeting the needs of individuals and families who have accumulated a higher level of wealth. She also has significant experience in commercial lending and business succession planning.
Prior to becoming a Financial Advisor, Betsy spent a decade managing a team of commercial lenders at J.P. Morgan, becoming a trusted resource to entrepreneurs and family-owned businesses. In 1998, she was offered the opportunity to become the Chief Financial Officer for a successful wholesale distributor company. The family ultimately sold its business and real estate with Betsy’s astute guidance, transitioning her to Chief Investment Officer of their Family Office. She later joined BNY Mellon where she built a successful practice focusing on pre-sale planning and other investment strategies designed specifically for business owners and families with legacy planning goals.
While building her practice at BNY Mellon, Betsy enjoyed working with a number of smart and caring advisors with a similar focus and mandate: to build deep relationships with each client to be able to deliver cutting edge advice in a highly personal and high-touch manner. They officially joined forces at Morgan Stanley in late 2020.
A life-long learner, Betsy earned her B.A. in Economics at Rutgers University and her M.B.A. in Finance from New York University. She is a Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®), the recognized standard of excellence for personal financial planning.
Betsy’s desire to help others is equaled only by her dedication to her community and her family. She is a member of the Executive Board of Directors for Rutgers University Foundation, where she is responsible for the Development committee and the University’s multi-year capital campaign. She is also on the Board of Trustees for the Princeton Area Community Foundation and the McCarter Theatre in Princeton.
Originally from Central NJ, Betsy now splits her time between homes in Princeton Junction and Bay Head with her husband, Bernie. They have three grown children, Kerry, Sarah and Jack. Outside of the office, Betsy loves travel, taking long walks at the beach with her dog, Finn, and changing the world through philanthropy.
