About J. Powell Royall
Powell is based out of Morgan Stanley’s Lafayette branch where he serves as First Vice President, Financial Advisor and Branch Manager. Powell is not from Louisiana or Mississippi like many of his fellow managers in the market but says that being raised in Fairfax Country, Virginia, has given him a special perspective on just how extraordinary the culture of this Market is. Powell holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University and has been working as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley since 2001. In 2013 he became a manager with the firm before relocating from Virginia to South Louisiana in 2017 to fill the role of Branch Manager at the firm’s Lafayette office.
When not working with clients, Powell enjoys spending time traveling with his wife, Chelsea, and their children—Ryan and Cara. He is an avid fan of the Washington Commanders, Washington Capitals, Baltimore Orioles and Alabama Crimson Tide. Since moving to the Lafayette area, Powell has become involved in many local charities, is a strong advocate for youth sports, enjoys spending time with his family and friends and has even began brewing his own beer.
When not working with clients, Powell enjoys spending time traveling with his wife, Chelsea, and their children—Ryan and Cara. Keyan M. Cooper has served as a Risk Officer with Morgan Stanley since 2016, bringing more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Since beginning her career in 1998, Keyan has held a variety of roles that have provided her with a broad understanding of compliance, operations, and risk management within the financial sector.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of New Orleans and holds FINRA licenses 3, 4, 7, 24, 53, and 66. Keyan is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and supporting the firm’s’ commitment to integrity and sound risk practices.
