My Story

Kevin Shimmel is a Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor, Senior Investment Management Consultant, and Financial Planning Specialist at Morgan Stanley. As a valedictorian, Kevin received a full academic scholarship to California State University Long Beach where he earned a bachelor's degree in finance as well as an MBA in Finance. He started working as a Financial Advisor while he was still in college, and he joined Morgan Stanley in 2001. He has extensive training in wealth management, and he is a Certified Financial Planner, a Chartered Financial Consultant, a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, a Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor, a Certified Retirement Counselor, and a Qualified Plan Financial Consultant. He is passionate about helping people grow their wealth and meet their retirement goals.

In today’s market, it’s essential to have a Financial Advisor who can provide insight and guidance based on an understanding of your unique situation. Kevin met his wife Courtney in college, and they were married on their shared birthday in 2005. Their son Nick was born in 2011 and their daughter Whitney was born on St. Patrick’s Day in 2015. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, skiing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Sue began her career in financial services in 1997. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2019, she was a Private Banker at Bank of the West. Sue has also been a Private Banker at Wells Fargo and Bank of America, as well as a Wealth Management Banker at Merrill Lynch.

Sue received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from University of Alaska Anchorage.

She resides in Orangevale, CA with her husband Mark. Sue currently serves on the Hope Gala Board of Ambassadors for the American Cancer Society. Outside of the office, she enjoys gardening, reading and traveling.
