Meet Kearon Ashcroft Wealth Management

About Christopher Kearon

Christopher Kearon is a highly experienced Financial Advisor and Executive Director at Morgan Stanley who works in the firm's Berwyn, Pennsylvania office. He and his team focus primarily on creating holistic financial plans for a broad range of high net worth individuals to help them pursue their unique and varied long-term financial goals.

A Financial Advisor since 1985, Chris has worked in every economic and market environment since then, most notably the 1987 stock market crash, the period of rising interest rates in the 1990's, the 'Tech Wreck' of the early 2000's, the 2008 financial crisis and more recently, the Covid economic shutdown and resulting inflationary environment. This extensive experience, he believes, gives him the ability to help clients remain calm and focused on their plan during periods of market and economic uncertainty.

Chris describes himself as a "financial quarterback" because he and his team set up each client’s game plan in the form of a carefully constructed financial strategy. They regularly monitor each plan’s progress and maintain contact with clients periodically to help ensure they are “on track” in pursuit of their objectives.

Chris’s financial planning approach, which includes a comprehensive discovery process, has been so effective during more than 35+ years in the securities industry that he now serves the financial needs of the children of many clients whose financial plans he developed many years, and in some cases decades, ago.

Chris is among a select group of professionals at the firm entrusted to manage portfolios with discretionary authority through its Portfolio Management program. For busy people, or those who neither have the time nor expertise to track the many nuances of the market, this approach affords them more time to enjoy life, he says.

Chris graduated in 1984 from the University of Scranton with a degree in Business Management. In 2019, he was named by Forbes magazine as one of the best Financial Advisors in Pennsylvania, and has sustained that honor in each successive year. Chris has been married to his lovely wife, Becky, since April of 1991. They are the proud parents of twin daughters, Rachel and Darby. In his free time, Chris enjoys pickleball, golfing, snowboarding, and spending time with his family.

The individuals mentioned as the Portfolio Management Team are Financial Advisors with Morgan Stanley participating in the Morgan Stanley Portfolio Management program. The Portfolio Management program is an investment advisory program in which the client’s Financial Advisor invests the client’s assets on a discretionary basis in a range of securities. The Portfolio Management program is described in the applicable Morgan Stanley ADV Part 2, available at www.morganstanley.com/ADV or from your Financial Advisor.

9The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) aware investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because ESG criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. 10Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
