About Katelyn

Katelyn Goodwin is more than a financial advisor. She's a strategist, a problem-solver, and a dedicated advocate for her clients' financial success. With a diverse background spanning finance, marketing, and entertainment, she brings a rare blend of analytical rigor and creative thinking to wealth management, helping individuals and businesses build, grow, and preserve their assets with confidence.

Before joining Morgan Stanley, Katelyn made a name for herself at Goldman Sachs, where she was promoted to Vice President in the Executive Office in under two years, which is a rare achievement at one of the world's most elite financial institutions. As part of the Global Marketing Strategy and Operations team at the firm's headquarters, she played a critical role in shaping high-impact initiatives and driving strategic decision-making. Her exceptional performance earned her a nomination for the Women's Career Strategies Initiative (WCSI), which is a prestigious program recognizing high-performing women associates on track for senior leadership.

Katelyn's path to finance is anything but traditional. Before Wall Street, she thrived in the entertainment industry, working at Sony Music Entertainment and Columbia Records, home to legendary artists. She later transitioned to Complex Networks, a Verizon and Hearst joint venture, where she managed multimillion-dollar digital campaigns for major brands. These experiences sharpened her ability to think strategically, manage high-profile relationships, and navigate complex financial landscapes, which are skills she now applies to helping guide her clients toward financial success.

As a diverse and well-rounded financial advisor, Katelyn is known for delivering exceptional client service with a white-glove approach. She focuses on helping professionals, business owners, and families create tailored financial plans that align with their values, aspirations, and long-term goals. A passionate advocate for financial literacy and empowerment, she is especially committed to helping women gain confidence in their financial decisions, helping ensure they build and sustain generational wealth.

Katelyn holds a Bachelor of Science from St. John's University in Queens, NY, along with an impressive set of industry credentials, including SIE, Series 7, Series 66, and RI Life & Health Insurance licenses. She also carries the Financial Planning Specialist designation, reinforcing her knowledge and experience in holistic financial planning.

At the heart of Katelyn's approach is a simple yet powerful belief: financial success is not just about wealth, but about creating the freedom to live life on your own terms.

      1. Introduction

We begin with a conversation and listen carefully to understand what is important to you, your family and your future. We identify circumstances unique to your situation and their potential financial implications and determine how we can add value. This is your opportunity to interview us, as we get to know you. Should we agree to move forward, we will schedule our next meeting and request more detailed information.

      Icon Image
      2. Discovery

We continue our conversation, learning about you, your family and the complexities surrounding your wealth. We ask about your personal bucket list, your core values and how you make decisions. What we learn helps us formulate specific strategies, while helping us customize a relationship that serves your preferences and requirements.

      Icon Image
      3. Analysis & Plan Development

We look at both sides of your balance sheet – including all current assets and liabilities – to determine how to best position your portfolio moving forward. We then utilize industry-leading financial planning tools to develop a personalized and detailed financial plan with specific recommendations to help you grow, preserve and transfer your wealth. This serves as the foundation for building your initial plan, as well as future decisions.

Lean More About Our Goals-Based Planning Process

      4. Plan Presentation

In this step, we present your financial plan, which includes an investment portfolio that aligns your investments with your goals and timeframes. We also discuss other wealth management solutions that may include family dynamics, estate planning, and philanthropic giving strategies.

      Icon Image
      5. Implementation

Upon your approval of our recommendations, we begin to implement the strategies outlined in the plan. Once assets have been transferred to Morgan Stanley and are aligned with your investment strategy, we walk you through the details of your new statement and introduce all of the tools and resources now available to you.

      6. Ongoing Monitoring & Personal Service

Committed to a first-class experience, we focus on developing longstanding relationships that can provide value to you and your family. We speak with you regularly to see how you and your family are doing. Most importantly, we provide ongoing monitoring of your investments in coordination with ongoing monitoring of your plan and progress towards each of your goals, adjusting your financial plan and investments accordingly as changes in your life occur. To us, a good financial plan is one that evolves with your life and your changing priorities.

Ongoing financial education is a vital element of my practice. It leads to better insights into our strategies and disciplines, and ultimately, better long-term decisions. The following resources reinforce the fundamental pillars of my practice and provide valuable information to help manage your money more effectively in today's global financial world.
