My Story and Services

Joseph Sefaradi is an Executive Director and Financial Advisor with The Horowitz Bodner Sefaradi Group at Morgan Stanley. With a distinctive background in accounting and a deep commitment to his clients’ vision for the future — Joseph helps families make informed decisions, simplify their financial life, and secure their legacy for generations to come. Joseph has been named to the Best In State Wealth Advisors in New York state list by Forbes in 2025. Additionally, he has been awarded Forbes Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisor for 2024 & 2025. The group has been awarded Best In State Wealth Management teams in the New York State by Forbes in both 2024 & 2025.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Joseph honed his skills and industry knowledge at other esteemed institutions. After graduating with Macaulay Honors from Brooklyn College —where he earned a dual bachelor of science degree in Accounting and Business, Management, and Finance — he began his career as a Senior Consultant at FTI Consulting. In 2011, he joined JP Morgan Securities, where he served as a Private Banker from 2011 to 2014 before transitioning to the role of Financial Advisor until 2022. As a former Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Joseph today equips clients with a unique depth of insight to help them preserve their wealth and strive toward their goals. Joseph has earned membership to Morgan Stanleys 2025 Masters Club, an elite group composed of the Firm’s top Financial Advisors. The appointment recognizes Josephs consistent creativity and excellence in providing a wide range of investment products and wealth management services to his clients.

For families, Joseph focuses predominantly on guiding them toward their retirement and multigenerational objectives in a tax-efficient manner. Over the years, he has helped many different types of clients achieve an even wider array of goals. While this experience-backed knowledge is an invaluable asset for clients, Joseph prides himself above all on the lifelong relationships he builds with every client based on trust, service, and communication.

Joseph also works extensively in the entrepreneurial and startup space. Along with helping businesses optimize their corporate structuring of Qualified Small Business Stock, he guides clients through the intricacies of managing private shares. In particular, he helps them avoid potential pitfalls of Alternative Minimum Tax — whether triggered by Incentive Stock Options, Non-Qualified Stock Options, or Restricted Stock Units. Here, Joseph's keen understanding of balance sheets and his commitment to maximizing after-tax returns help ensure comprehensive and straightforward financial solutions for even the most complex challenges.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Joseph cherishes spending time with his wife, Muriel Sefaradi, and their four daughters — Esther, Henriette, Lillian, and Gabrielle. An active member of his community, he dedicates much of his free time to volunteering with organizations affiliated with his local synagogue and other nonprofit entities.

What Sets Us Apart

We begin each new client relationship by gaining a thorough understanding of present and future financial goals.

Our team spends a lot of time probing—analyzing expenses and identifying the hidden effects of inflation—to arrive at a realistic understanding of the income streams that clients will require over time.

Utilizing a bank of questions developed from our many years of wealth management experience, we carefully assess risk tolerance and volatility concerns. These inputs inform our process as we create tailored and risk-adjusted personalized investment strategies.

Our approach is extremely straightforward—we tell clients what they need to hear, not always what they want to hear. And by educating our clients about every element of their individualized portfolios, we help ensure they fully comprehend the financial plans we have developed.

In The Press

Joseph's consistency in delivering a personalized wealth management experience has earned recognition by his peers.
