About Me

Tom Johnston joined Morgan Stanley Wealth Management as a Financial Advisor in 2021. Prior to, he served at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management since 1993. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Management Director. His additional academic work includes: coursework for the CFP program and his completion of the Wealth Management in Practice: High Net Worth Investing Program through the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010. Tom focuses on wealth management strategies for high net worth families to help them create, manage, and preserve their wealth in accordance with their goals and concerns. Developing a trustworthy, effective, and successful long-term relationship is his top business priority.

In 1993, Tom graduated from Furman University with a degree in Business Administration while wrestling on scholarship for the Paladins. Tom is very active in the community having served on numerous non-profit boards and organizations, including President of Hall County YMCA, the North Georgia Community Foundation, Gainesville Rotary and many others. He is also a deacon at Lakewood Baptist Church. He and his wife, Leanne, have two children, Ashley and Tommy. Tom thoroughly enjoys golf, participating in triathlons, reading, and traveling with his family.

About Me

J. Thomas “Tommy” Turner has been active in the financial services industry since 1996, serving at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management from 2002 until 2021. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. and has his Master of Business Administration. His focus is helping clients in developing and implementing long-term wealth management strategies for their personal and business finances.

Tommy attended Furman University on an Army ROTC Scholarship, was student body president, and earned a BA degree in 1992. After Furman, he earned a Master of Business Administration at the University of South Carolina and served four years as an officer in the United States Army at Fort Jackson, S.C. Tommy is active in his community having served on the board of the Good News Clinic, the Deacon Leadership Council of Lakewood Baptist Church, and delivering Meals on Wheels. Tommy and his wife, Julie, live in Gainesville.
