A lifelong Florida resident, he works with clients on investment management, portfolio construction and long-term wealth strategies, drawing on experience across both equity and fixed income markets.

Robert began his financial services career in 2000 in equity capital markets with Raymond James Financial. In 2003, he joined his father’s team at Smith Barney and has remained with the firm through its evolution to Morgan Stanley. His father began working in the industry in 1986, giving Robert early exposure to financial markets and the advisory business. During the 17 years they worked together, Robert developed his approach to security selection and portfolio construction while learning the importance of perspective, discipline and continuity in client relationships.

Passionate about markets and portfolio strategy, Robert brings a deep working knowledge of equities and fixed income to his work with clients. He focuses on building and managing portfolios in the context of each client’s broader goals, risk considerations, liquidity needs and time horizon. As part of the Johnston Hooks Group, he collaborates with the team to connect investment decisions with comprehensive wealth planning for multigenerational families and successful individuals.

About Neda Hooks

Neda Hooks is an Executive Director, Financial Advisor, and Senior Portfolio Manager with Morgan Stanley in Tampa, Florida. As a CFP® professional and CRPC®, she helps successful individuals, families, business owners, and multigenerational families with financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, and long-term wealth management strategies.

Neda believes exceptional financial advice begins with understanding what matters most to each client. She works with clients to build thoughtful plans and disciplined investment strategies designed to help them pursue their goals, navigate life’s changes, protect what they have built, and prepare for the future.

Her passion for financial planning is deeply personal. After immigrating to the United States from Iran as a young child, Neda watched her parents rebuild their lives through hard work, resilience, disciplined saving, and thoughtful investing. Those lessons shaped her philosophy as a financial advisor and continue to guide how she helps clients build financial confidence.

Neda began her career as a financial advisor in 2007 and joined Morgan Stanley in 2010. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of South Florida and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ designation.

Outside of her practice, Neda serves on the Lakeland Regional Health Foundation Board, is a Women in Philanthropy Committee Member, and serves as Vice President of the Parent Teacher Organization at her children’s school. She enjoys traveling with her husband, Hamilton, and their two children, exploring new cultures, visiting art museums, discovering local cuisine, and running.

Neda believes true wealth is about creating freedom, opportunity, and confidence — for today and for generations to come.

7Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan's investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan's flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan's investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state's own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state's tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
