Biography

John Heavey is a Managing Director - Wealth Management advisor at the Morgan Stanley - branch in Red Bank, New Jersey. He is also one of the privileged financial advisors to have been awarded the exclusive distinction of Family Wealth Director. This designation is awarded to those advisors who have demonstrated the ability to advise the ultra high net worth client. John holds the Certified Financial Planner™ designation, has been named to The Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors in New Jersey for 2024 and 2025, and The Financial Times’ 2014 list of America’s Top 400 Financial Advisors.

John has been in the financial services industry for 37 years. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in June of 2005, he was Senior Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch Private Client Group for 18 years.

John focuses on working with high net worth individuals and families and providing solutions for clients in areas such as estate planning, retirement planning, philanthropy, liability management and hedging and monetization strategies.

John received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University in 1981 and his Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 1986. He is a member of the Advisory Council to Interfaith Neighbors in Asbury Park, NJ, which is dedicated to aiding the working class poor of Monmouth County, New Jersey., John is a member of the Monmouth Medical Center Board of trustees and is former Chairman of the Monmouth Medical Finance Committee. He and his wife, Joanne, reside in Ocean Township, NJ.
