My Story and Services
John Race, Jr. is a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. He has over 17 years of experience in finance, with a specific focus on the securities industry. John began his career in investment banking before transitioning into institutional equity sales where he spent the next 15 years of his career.
John graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM) degree with a major in Finance. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he helped build the institutional equity research platform at Coker & Palmer.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Tanya, and their three young children, Dudley, Vivienne and Layla. Together, they are avid travelers who like to experience new places, people and cultures. More than anything, they love taking advantage of living in New Orleans and experiencing everything it has to offer, from the food, festivals, music and people. John is also an avid snow skier.

Tonya Umbehagen is a Private Banker serving Morgan Stanley Wealth Management offices in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Tonya began her career in financial services in 2009 and joined Morgan Stanley in 2024 as a Private Banker. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Market Sales Director at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch leading a team of Wealth Management Bankers. She brings a vast amount of experience in client-facing roles, focusing on delivering impactful solutions and building trusted relationships.
Tonya lives in Covington, Louisiana with her husband. Outside of the office, she enjoys Pilates, boating and being active in her church community at First Baptist Church of Covington.
