My Story and Services

From strategic planning, to raising private equity capital, to finding successful exit strategies for stakeholders, John’s breadth of experience in the business world gives him valuable insights into the needs of business owners and the skill set to truly become your dedicated financial advisor.

John started his career as an attorney and advanced from in-house counsel and senior project manager to President and CEO of both public and private companies. He raised over $12 million in private equity financing and built and sold a substantial food processing business in the former Soviet Union. He also reorganized and sold a dry cleaning franchise in the US. He understands the many issues business executives face, both in their businesses as well as in their often-neglected, personal financial affairs. John partners his experience with the renowned global resources of Morgan Stanley, one of the world’s foremost wealth management firms, to help you set and achieve your financial goals.

John graduated from the University of Illinois in Russian Area Studies and has his law degree from the College of Law at the University of Illinois. He is on the Board of Directors of Literacy Matters, whose mission is to help children learn to read, and has served on the board of Charter School Partners, a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the achievement gap in education in Minneapolis, and Gilda’s Club Twin Cities, whose mission is to help families who have a loved one suffering from cancer.

He is married, has three adult children, and lives in Edina. He enjoys online chess and plays the drums, saxophone and occasionally sings with the nominally-acclaimed band “The Mediocritones.”
