My Story and Services
John Cunningham is a native Louisvillian and a sixth-generation Kentuckian. He believes a successful client partnership is built upon two key principles: putting clients’ interest first and providing exceptional personal service. He has built his reputation as a trusted advisor by serving his clients with integrity and honesty and becoming their primary resource for family finances.
His process focuses on creating lasting income streams for their clients to facilitate their desired lifestyle and creating the discipline and time horizon necessary for risk assets to perform. Three distinct categories John emphasizes with clients are cash management, wealth management, and family legacy planning. He strives to meet the complex, ever-changing, and often unique, needs of families with wealth.
Throughout his career, John has demonstrated a strong commitment to both community and the arts. He serves on the board of the Louisville Orchestra, Assumption High School Investment Committee, is an Elder at Second Presbyterian Church, and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Louisville and the Financial Planning Association. He began his financial services career in 1982 at Merrill Lynch before becoming a partner at J. C. Bradford & Co., which was acquired by UBS Financial Services in 2000.
Married to Sallie for 44 years, John is a proud father of two adult children, Ross and Lee Ann.

About Lee Ann Cunningham
Lee Ann joined The Cunningham Group after a successful career at BlackRock in Princeton, New Jersey, where she assisted Financial Advisors with investment selection and risk analysis. A native of Louisville, she attended Assumption High School, where she played volleyball and earned a scholarship to Rice University. Lee Ann was a triple-major in Policy Studies, Political Science, and Spanish while earning All-American honors as a varsity athlete. She attended Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, where she earned her master’s degree and competed on the Women’s Rowing team. Lee Ann’s community involvement includes Impact 100, the Assumption High School Investment Committee, and the Alice Houston Women’s Leadership Program.
She holds the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 licenses. Lee Ann also obtained the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) and the Certified Exit Planning Advisor® (CEPA®) designations. As a Director of Business Strategy with Morgan Stanley, Kristin collaborates with clients, Financial Advisors, and internal partners to help uncover potential investment opportunities and advance strategic priorities tailored to each client’s objectives. She is a central resource for day-to-day client needs, managing communications, coordinating requests, and connecting clients to Morgan Stanley’s full suite of capabilities. Kristin is recognized for providing a high touch experience through thoughtful proposal development alongside the advisory team, leading virtual meetings, overseeing client reporting, and supporting timely delivery of marketing and educational materials. She also contributes to key team initiatives that streamline processes and further enhance the overall client experience.
