John Ashworth is a First Vice President and Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley in Winter Park, Florida. He is a Portfolio Management Director and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and works alongside business owners, executives, and high net worth individuals and families to create and implement comprehensive investment and retirement strategies.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2011, John spent nearly 20 years working alongside business owners. A resident of Central Florida since 1977, John’s background entails several executive positions including CEO of the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce, President of Leadership Seminole, Inc. d.b.a. Envision Seminole, and Vice President and Leadership Orlando Program Director with the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Given his past positions and experience including a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, he understands what it takes to be successful in business. He works alongside his business owner clients to assist with cash management, needs for capital, retirement and benefit plans, risk reviews, succession and exit planning, and personal family wealth plans.

John also creates and implements investment and retirement strategies for executives and high net worth individuals and families to include the following: Financial planning, tax-efficient investments, retirement planning, education funding, and wealth and asset preservation.

John lives in Altamonte Springs with his beautiful wife, Nicole, and has two adult sons, Nicholas and Colin.

His community service has included the Rotary in addition to serving as a Board Member with the Parkinson Association of Central Florida and the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools.

Ellen assists with client requests, account consolidation and onboarding new accounts and clients.

Ellen is a graduate of the University of Florida and a long-time resident of Winter Park along with her husband Peter. She has been in Financial Services for more than 20 years.

About Luis Alvarez

Luis Alvarez is a Client Service Associate with Morgan Stanley. He assists clients with effectively navigating the various services that the Firm provides as well as other general requests and inquiries.

Luis was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised on the east coast of PR. He moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 2010. His interest for finance began in high school and was stoked through avid market research. Specifically, he developed a passion for technical analysis, order flows, and options. Luis earned his A.S. in Business Administration and is currently working on his B.A. in Business and Organizational Leadership. Luis previously worked for Charles Schwab as a broker on the retail line with a focus on exceptional customer service including account maintenance, trading, money movement, and other client requests. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing basketball and weightlifting.

Brian Kerns is a Private Banker serving Morgan Stanley Wealth Management offices in Florida.

Private Bankers partner with Financial Advisors to develop a specialized approach for managing clients’ cash flow, liquidity and financing needs, leveraging our comprehensive suite of cash management and lending solutions.

Brian began his career in financial services in 2004, and joined Morgan Stanley in 2018. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Senior Premier Banker at SunTrust. He also served as a Wealth Management Banker at the Merrill Lynch.

Brian is a graduate of the University of North Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management. Brian resides in Lake Mary, Florida with his wife and children. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing golf and coaching his son T-ball team.
