My Process
Discovery
Typically, what you can expect when you work with me is a process designed to help me understand who you are and what you are trying to accomplish in working with a financial advisor.
This typically involves an initial fact-finding period, in which we discuss your goals and objectives, and information we need to know such as your investment experience, investment time horizon(s), and risk tolerance.
We also take inventory of your current financial picture, which includes your current assets and liabilities. This can include statements for your bank accounts, investment accounts, retirement accounts, W-2’s, mortgages, insurance, and other loans you may have.
Many clients only want us to manage a portion of their overall finances, which is no problem at all. However, it is critical that we have as complete of a picture of your finances as possible to ensure any recommendations we make are not only appropriate but aligned with your goals and in your best interest.
This step is deeply personal, and we take your trust, privacy, and security very seriously. We take the utmost care in protecting all personally identifiable and non-public information.
Proposal
Once we have a collective understanding of what you are looking to accomplish and where you stand currently, I will work to provide you a summary of the information we have compiled and a customized investment proposal. We will review together and once you are satisfied with the proposal; my team will go to work to begin implementing it. We will also set expectations for our working relationship, in terms of contact preferences and frequency, and other aspects of our service model.
Implementation
The implementation step is typically where the heavy lifting occurs. We will provide you everything you need including paperwork to open and transfer accounts, designate beneficiaries, and information to get you registered for a Morgan Stanley Online account help you familiarize yourself with the resources and tools available to you as a new client.
Monitoring
Going forward, we will continue to work for you behind the scenes, monitoring your investments, conducting risk analyses, evaluating the markets, and communicating with you any events that may warrant your attention. In addition to this ongoing account maintenance, we will hold periodic reviews of your portfolio, and discuss any changes to the markets or your life circumstances that may give us reason to adjust your plan.

About Me
I was born and raised in and near Bozeman, Montana. I graduated from Bozeman Senior High School with honors, where I played basketball and served as an editor for the video yearbook. After high school, I took a few years off to live and work at Big Sky Resort where I accumulated 250+ days snowboarding over 3 seasons.
After returning to Bozeman to attend Montana State University, I met my future wife, Mandi. We moved to Bellingham in 2014 as part of a relocation for Mandi’s work, along with our 2 miniature schnauzers, Minnie and Nala. We were married in 2019, bought our first home in Bellingham in 2020, and recently had our second child in January of 2024.
After gaining residency in WA, I completed my degree at Western Washington University in Bellingham, graduating cum laude with my B.A. in Finance and joined Morgan Stanley later that year.
When I’m not working to help my clients achieve their financial goals, I find joy in working out, playing basketball, spending time outdoors, and learning to be the best husband and father that I can be.

7Investing in the market entails the risk of market volatility. The value of all types of investments may increase or decrease over varying time periods. The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of sustainable or impact investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because sustainability and impact criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.

12Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan's investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan's flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan's investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state's own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state's tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
