With more than 27 years of experience in wealth management, Jody works with successful business owners, executives, and high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families who face increasingly complex financial decisions. His approach is centered on helping clients create clarity by bringing together comprehensive financial planning, investment management, and institutional resources under one coordinated strategy.
For Jody, wealth management is deeply personal. He is thoughtful about the clients and families he works with and believes the strongest relationships are built over time through trust, consistency, and a genuine understanding of what matters most to them. He takes the time to know his clients beyond their balance sheets—their families, businesses, priorities, and the legacy they hope to build. In many cases, those relationships extend to the next generation, as Jody works with clients’ children to help them develop an understanding of their financial lives and prepare to build, manage, and steward wealth of their own.
Every relationship begins with a financial plan built around a client’s cash flow, goals, and evolving priorities. Jody believes clients should have confidence that they can access their money anytime, anywhere in the world, while knowing the different pieces of their financial lives are working together toward their long-term objectives. Many of his clients wear multiple hats—as business owners, executives, investors, and family leaders—and he helps them navigate the intersection of personal wealth, family priorities, and business finances through thoughtful, coordinated planning.
As those needs evolve, Jody can draw on the broader capabilities of Morgan Stanley, partnering with the firm’s Graystone Institutional Consulting team and a network of specialized professionals. Together, they can address areas such as corporate retirement plans, executive compensation strategies, defined benefit and defined contribution plans, participant education, corporate cash management, investment banking and capital markets resources, captive insurance strategies, and corporate foundation consulting. He also works with family businesses preparing for future generations, endowments and foundations, and professionals with specialized planning needs. This collaborative approach allows Jody to bring institutional resources to the table without losing the personal attention and close relationships that define his practice.
Jody earned his Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration from The University of Alabama before completing a Master of Arts in Finance through The Manderson Graduate School of Business, with concentrations in Investment Management, Global Real Estate, and Global Capital Markets.
Outside the office, Jody enjoys spending time with his two sons, Duncan and Thomas. Whether he’s on the tennis court, wing shooting, quail hunting, or relaxing with his English Cocker Spaniel, Sadie, he values time spent with family and friends. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and is an active member of First United Methodist Church in Montgomery.
