Jennifer Olson is a Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley in Stillwater, Minnesota. With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, she is known for unwavering integrity and for building long-term client relationships grounded in trust.
Her practice focuses on creating customized, comprehensive financial plans—and managing those plans with care and precision—so clients can pursue their goals within the time horizons most important to them. While serving a broad range of clients, the practice primarily supports high-net-worth individuals and families, multigenerational planning needs, retirement plan investors, and women investors—particularly those navigating complex financial decisions associated with separation and divorce.
A self-described "people person," she has long been drawn to helping others. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College in 2003, where she studied psychology and family studies. An internship at Piper Jaffray sparked her interest in finance, leading to a role as a Wealth Advisory Associate. She spent nine years in that position—four at Piper Jaffray and five at UBS following its acquisition of Piper Jaffray's brokerage business in 2006.
In 2012, she joined Morgan Stanley as a Financial Advisor and has since built a loyal client base centered on service, accountability, and planning excellence. She has been promoted to Senior Vice President and is a Century Club Member at Morgan Stanley.
Jennifer painstakingly creates a custom, comprehensive financial plan for every client. This is the document that identifies all of a client's goals and the path that she recommends clients follow in order to achieve them over time.
To create your plan, Jenn conducts an extensive interview to obtain a complete picture of your financial life. From there, she carefully analyzes this information and, using all the tools available to her at Morgan Stanley, creates a financial plan.
An excellent communicator and listener, Jenn then meets with you to describe the financial plan in an easy-to-understand language and gladly answers all your questions, clearly and succinctly.
One of the keys to succeed with your financial plan is your willingness to stick with it over time. Jenn strongly believes well-informed clients are likely to remain committed to their plan through all market and economic environments.
As your needs and goals change, Jenn will recommend alterations to your plan to help keep it on track to your desired financial destination.
A Core component of any wealth management framework is retirement planning. Making it increasingly important are longer life expectancies, rising health care costs, uncertainty tied to Social Security and continued changes in corporate retirement plans.
The Morgan Stanley Goals Planning System (GPS) strives to guard against more than just market volatility. We take other important factors into account.
