My Story

Jeff English, a Financial Advisor and Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley, works diligently to assess his clients’ goals, investment risk and building plans customized to their unique requirements. His hands-on approach emphasizes face-to-face meetings and helping clients understand the strategy behind his investment management process.

For 2022, Jeff was named by Forbes as a Best-In-State Wealth Advisor. Forbes’ Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list comprises a select group of individuals who have a minimum of seven years of industry experience. The ranking, developed by Forbes’ partner SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative and quantitative data, rating thousands of wealth advisors and weighing factors like revenue trends, AUM, compliance records, industry experience and best practices learned through telephone and in-person interviews.

For Jeff, retirement planning means more than providing his clients with investment advice-it means helping them seek to maintain the financial independence they’ve worked their whole lives to achieve. His consultative process begins with an in-depth discussion of clients’ current finances and future objectives. He addresses issues clients might have overlooked and determines how he can help them adjust their investment strategy to accommodate changing conditions and navigate any unforeseen expenses and income demands that may arise during retirement.

Jeff, a graduate of the University of Kentucky, he began his investment career in 1994 with Hilliard Lyons in Louisville. Jeff has worked at Morgan Stanley (formerly Smith Barney) since 2000 and has attained the firms’ Senior Investment Management Consultant designation.

Jeff is active in his community and faith. He currently serves as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, teaches Sunday school and Bible studies, and currently serves on the steering committee for Young Life Tuscaloosa. He was formerly an Elder at Adventure Christian Church in Louisville and was a board member for Kentuckiana Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He and his wife of 24 years, Beth, have three children Ally, Jack and Hannah.

Financial Quarterback

As your financial advisor, I take a comprehensive, big-picture approach to designing portfolios for clients.

And much like a good quarterback knows where his team is headed and creates a plan to help get them there; a good financial advisor does the same thing to help clients meet their financial goals.

Think about it: Your financial life extends beyond the scope of your financial advisor. There is likely overlap between your financial planning, tax planning, and estate planning strategies. In accordance, I believe there should be an ongoing dialogue between your financial advisor and your CPA, your estate planning attorney, mortgage broker, and even insurance specialist in order to provide a truly holistic planning experience.

As a financial advisor, I collaborate with my clients’ entire advisory team to help simplify and streamline every aspect of their financial lives and circumstances. And much like a quarterback, I help focus on the big picture, striving to ensure everyone is on the same page and working together as a team to help clients seek to meet their goals and needs.
