My Story and Services

Jeff is a Vice President and Financial Advisor with The Downey Elorriaga Group at Morgan Stanley. He enjoys helping clients with virtually every aspect of their financial lives.

Jeff believes successful people all share a common bond: They encounter important life events that require timely guidance to help them make the right financial decisions for themselves, their careers, and their families. Through a comprehensive financial plan and portfolio management, he helps them achieve their goals while managing risk.

After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Boise State University, Jeff began his career at Morgan Stanley, followed by working at Wells Fargo Advisors and LPL Financial to then return back to Morgan Stanley for the abundance of resources that best serve his clients.

Today, Jeff’s primary responsibilities continue to focus on financial planning, portfolio strategy, and estate/trust planning. He helps each client develop and implement their strategies, while regularly checking in on their progress toward each goal. Jeff receives great satisfaction knowing he is helping make a significant impact on the quality of his clients’ lives and often becomes one of the most important relationships to them and their families.

Jeff still lives in downtown Portland near his parents, Steve and Sally, and his brother, John. He has two sisters, Anne and Brooke, who currently live in San Francisco and New York City. Outside of the office, he enjoys a wide range of activities including live entertainment, golfing, and working out. Something you may not know about Jeff is that he played on Boise State’s D1 Men’s Varsity Basketball team, joining as a walk-on and became a four-year starter.

5Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
