Working With You

My consultative process is the same for all my clients: It begins by working closely with you to understand your financial goals, lifestyle needs, and aspirations so I can learn what matters most to you. I will then analyze your current financial situation, assess risks, and identify opportunities to improve your financial well-being. I will present you with a holistic financial plan designed to help you achieve your goals and objectives. Lastly, I will guide you through the implementation of your plan and provide ongoing progress monitoring and performance reviews to ensure you stay on track.

    Step 1: Discovering Your Needs
The first critical step is the discovery phase. This is when I get to know you and understand what matters most to you and your family. These initial conversations help me learn about your financial goals, lifestyle needs, and aspirations. I will ask many questions to understand your existing financial resources, sources of income, and any outstanding obligations. Capturing this information will enable me to map out a long-term strategy, ensuring each facet of your financial situation is working together effectively.
    Icon Image
    Step 2: Analysis and Recommendations
Once we have completed the discovery process, I will analyze your personal and financial information, assess risks, and identify opportunities to improve your financial well-being. I will then present you with your financial plan and help you visualize your retirement as we work together to bring it to reality. Your financial plan will include customized investment options designed to work together to help grow your portfolio and achieve your financial goals. I may also present several wealth management recommendations encompassing cash flow management strategies, risk management solutions, tax planning, and estate planning services.

    Step 3: Implementing Your Plan
When you’ve approved your financial plan, I will work closely with you to help implement a tailored investment strategy supported by the global investment resources of Morgan Stanley that best matches your unique needs, time horizon, and risk profile. Appropriate asset allocation, diversification, and rebalancing will be the foundational concepts of your strategy. Additionally, I will ensure the various elements of your plan integrate well with one another. I will also coordinate your strategy with any other professional advisors you work with if needed, such as attorneys or accountants.
    Icon Image
    Step 4: Monitoring Your Progress
Ongoing communication is a vital component of our relationship. I am committed to staying abreast of your changing financial needs and life circumstances through regular review meetings. We will consistently monitor your assets and the performance of your financial plan to ensure you are on track to achieve your goals while addressing any changes to your objectives or market conditions over time. I will maintain consistent communication to ensure your concerns and requests are always addressed promptly. Although we can’t predict the future, preparing and having a plan is critical. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”

5Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan's investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan's flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan's investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state's own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state's tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.

14Investing in the market entails the risk of market volatility. The value of all types of investments may increase or decrease over varying time periods. The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of sustainable or impact investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because sustainability and impact criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
