My Story and Services

James advises a select circle of highly accomplished entrepreneurs, C-suite executives, and their families on how to navigate the complexities of managing significant wealth. Partnering with clients through life’s pivotal moments, James guides them through pre-liquidity planning, large scale transaction management, and tax-efficient capital allocation to meet their long-term objectives. He works to bring clarity to their financial picture, giving them the peace of mind to focus on their life’s priorities.

James takes a holistic approach, incorporating expertise spanning trust, estate and legacy planning, to risk management and hedging strategies for concentrated positions. Having spent his entire career at Morgan Stanley, he utilizes the full scope of the firm to implement the sophisticated solutions his clients need in a bespoke manner. Prior to becoming a Private Wealth Advisor, James led his team’s portfolio management efforts. This experience shaped his conviction in thematic investing and his philosophy of opportunistically capturing long-term trends through disciplined public and private strategies.

James joined Morgan Stanley in 2013, working in the firm’s securities based lending division. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Ramapo College of New Jersey and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. James is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of New York.

He brings the same endurance to his personal life as he does to his professional work. An avid athlete, he has completed nine marathons, several half-Ironman triathlons, and most notably a full Ironman triathlon in Alaska. He resides in Hoboken, New Jersey, with his wife, Alisa, a teacher for special needs children. James is conversant in Spanish and Portuguese and frequently travels to Portugal to visit family.
