About Me

James joined Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor in 2002 after an 18 year career at City National Bank.  Having earned a B.B.A. in Economics and MBA in Management from Marshall University, James understands the importance of being a student of the financial services industry.  Planning is the cornerstone of his engagement with clients and he has earned the Financial Planning Specialist designation as a result of his continued pursuit of knowledge.  By combining his education and 30+ years of financial services experience, James is able to best identify the financial needs of his clients and work with them to meet their financial goals.

James appreciates being a contributing member of the Huntington community. Along with his family, he understands the importance of giving back.  James is involved in the mentoring and leadership of young people as a soccer coach with St. Joseph High School and the YMCA. He is a former board member with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, a past participant with the Huntington Estate Planning Council, former member of Marshall University's Big Green Foundation, the Huntington Regional Commerce, he and his family are proud parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

When Jim is not serving his clients or serving the community you can find him enjoying a round of golf, exercising, fishing, or spending time with his family.

Working With You

As your life evolves, not only does your financial strategy become more complex, but your options for implementing it increase as well.  James uses a process that measures success by how you are progressing toward meeting the goals most important to you.  This thoughtful approach enables him to design and implement appropriate solutions to guide you in an effort to achieve and maintain financial independence.
Step 1: Understanding You
James begins with an in-depth conversation to understand your goals and the goals of your family, the concerns you have and what you ultimately would like to achieve.
Step 2: Analyzing Your Needs
Next, he reviews your current and future financial situation, identify the chances of potentially reaching your goals, and address any potential shortfalls of the impact of unexpected life events. In this step, he will also reach out to your CPA and estate attorney to understand your existing tax and estate plans, so he may coordinate our strategies.
Step 3: Tailoring a Solution for Your Specific Goals
Here, James prepares a comprehensive wealth management plan that addresses your individual income and cash flow needs, investment objectives and guidelines, and risk/return parameters.
Step 4: Implementing Your Plan
With James' guidance, you'll have access to a comprehensive array of strategies, services, and programs that are designed to work in tandem to help grow, preserver and transfer wealth, while remaining aligned with your personal goals and aspirations.
Step 5: Monitoring Results Against Your Goals
James oversees your progress on a daily basis and reviews the performance through ongoing calls and meetings. He may recommend adjustments over time, due to changing market conditions or changes in your circumstances, to help you stay on track towards achieving your goals.
