In the fall of 2023, Marc Jacobson and his team at Morgan Stanley presented a client event with his close friends, Greg Harden and Desmond Howard.

Greg was a Performance Coach at the University of Michigan for decades, positively impacting the lives of many athletes, including Tom Brady, Michael Phelps and Desmond Howard. He published a New York Times Best-Selling-Book detailing his lessons, titled "Staying Sane in an Insane World: How to Control the Controllables and Thrive". These life lessons apply to anyone, not just athletes.

Desmond Howard played football at the University of Michigan and went on to the win the 1991 Heisman Trophy as a Wide Receiver. He also played professionally in the NFL for many years and won the Super Bowl XXXI Most Valuable Player award. Desmond currently serves as a College Football Analyst for ESPN. Desmond's achievements would not have been possible without the lessons that Greg taught him.

During this client event, Marc moderated a discussion with Greg and Desmond centered around their lives, Greg's impact on Desmond and the lessons that Greg's book teaches. Marc, Greg and Desmond then took questions from the audience. This event was recorded and can be found in the video above. We hope you find it impactful.

Boys and Girls Club Royal Theater Playground
The Jacobson Wealth Management team committed the funding necessary to turn a parking lot into a playground for the Royal Theater Boys and Girls Club of the Suncoast. Opening day was February 28th, 2018.

Christo Brand, Author of "Mandela: My Prisoner, My Friend"
Christo was a former South African prison guard who developed a deep friendship with Nelson Mandela during his imprisonment. The Jacobson family welcomed Mr. Brand to St Pete in 2015. Christo was able to share his story with members of the local community.

State Bags

About Marc Jacobson

With more than 25 years of financial services experience, Marc came to Morgan Stanley in 2012. Committed to his clients, he believes that trust and confidence are the foundation for any successful relationship. Through hard work and dedication, he endeavors to exceed client expectations. He provides well-balanced solutions for each client based on their respective goals, tolerance and needs. A graduate of the University of Michigan, his experience with Bo Schembechler helped shape his commitment to integrity, ethics, and values.

As an active philanthropist, Marc has a history of mentoring children. He served as Chairman of the Board for All Children’s Hospital Foundation and Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay Foundation and on the board of The Vinny LeCavalier Foundation focusing on pediatric cancer. Marc currently serves on the Advisory Council of the World Federation of Youth Clubs, the Executive Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, and the Board of The Uniform Funding Foundation. In addition, Marc founded a Social Justice Coalition with global reach aimed at generational change.

Marc and his wife Lisa have two sons, Jordan and Eric.

About Beth Mills

Beth and Marc have worked together since 1999.  She has been in the financial services industry for 30 years.  With responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our office, she has a strong dedication and commitment to each of our clients.  In her free time, Beth volunteers with the American Legion Auxiliary and USO.  She has a daughter, Katie, who attends the University of Tampa.

About Debbie Gordon

Debbie Gordon has a wealth of experience in the financial service industry, having begun her career over 20 years ago.  Debbie has a Series 7 and 65 licenses, and has served in a variety of past capacities including:  operations, branch administration, and client service functions.

Debbie joined the Jacobson Wealth Management Group in August of 2012 as a Sr. Registered Associate where she focuses on high level administrative and customer service.  

Debbie lives in Tierra Verde, Florida with her husband Blake and son Jeffrey.   In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors and traveling to see her family and friends.

About Sam Green

Sam joined the Jacobson Wealth Management Group in 2015. He is a graduate from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce with degrees in Finance and Economics. Sam’s love for both helping people and the financial services industry led him to join the team. He strives to make positive differences in clients’ lives with hard work and strong attention to detail. Sam develops financial plans and conducts industry research, helping round out the team’s high-end service model. He lives in St. Petersburg and in his spare time, enjoys giving back to the community, spending time with family and friends, and following his favorite sports teams.
