My Story and Services

Jack Hartmann is a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. He joined the firm in February 2012. His practice is focused on constructing comprehensive wealth building plans for families and individuals. Jack’s extensive experience working with Alaska Native Corporations has given him deep insight into the specific challenges they and their shareholders face, and he is humbled to put the knowledge he has gained to work for his clients.

Jack’s decision to pursue a career in finance was largely influenced by his father who was also a successful financial advisor. Raised at an early age to read and understand financial literature, Jack developed a keen interest in the business. He expanded his knowledge by attending George Fox University where he received an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration and Azusa Pacific University graduating with a Master of Arts in Management.

Building deep and long lasting relationships is one of Jack’s most deeply held values. He utilizes Morgan Stanley’s technology platform and vast resources including education and estate planning, trust service, and insurance to meet his clients’ needs.

Jack is a member of Anchorage Chamber of Commerce. An avid fitness enthusiast who competed in Track and Field while attending college, he can be found at the gym or enjoying the Alaskan outdoors hiking, hunting and fishing. He is married to Makenna Hartmann, has a three-year-old daughter, Faroe, and a new baby girl, Sloane, born December 2022. The Hartmann's live in Anchorage with their Miniature Schnauzer Millie.

What We Do

Tab Image
We’ve worked with Native Corporations and Tribes for 16 years, helping clients with investment advisory, management services and more.

Every Corporation is unique, with their own opportunities and challenges. We begin by learning about the Corporation’s structure and objectives. What we learn helps us to formulate specific strategies and, of equal importance, it helps us customize the entire relationship to your preferences and requirements.

Step 1: Identify the Account Structures
Examples:
- Permanent Fund
- Settlement Fund
- Education Fund
- Operating Fund
- Reserve Fund
- Elderly Assist Fund

Step 2: Review the Investment Policy Statement for:
- Governance & Fiduciary Issues
- Strategic Initiatives
- Fund Objectives
- Constraints
- Liquidity Needs
- Risk Tolerance
- Time Horizon

Step 3: Establish Asset Allocation Framework:
- Start with Investment Policy Guidelines
- Analyze Expected Returns/Volatility
- Portfolio Risk/Return Projections
- Portfolio Stress Test
- Construct Strategic Long and Short-Term Allocations

* Asset Allocation does not assure a profit or protect against loss in declining financial markets.
