About Me

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, I believe success in achieving important financial goals for individuals and their families starts with a comprehensive wealth strategy. I work with families to achieve financial security through Professional Investment Advice, Portfolio Management, Estate Planning Strategies, Insurance, Tax Strategies, and Retirement Planning.Investment Process

My portfolio management process starts by utilizing a combination of Quality and Supply and Demand.

What do I mean by Quality? In order to choose 30 individual stocks, first, I rank the sectors of the U.S. Stock Market using supply and demand. I want to own stocks that are ranked in the top 5 sectors. Next, I overlay a “Quality Indicator” which screens for size (own larger cap), longevity of the company, earning consistency, dividend increases, and low debt to equity. Any stock failing to meet these criteria are quickly kicked out and replaced. These 30 stocks make up approximately a third of the portfolio.

The last two-thirds of the portfolio are also based on simple Supply and Demand. I leverage technical research to rank the six investment options (U.S. Stocks, International Stocks, Commodities, Currencies, Bonds, and Cash) from a supply and demand standpoint, owning the two investment options with more demand than supply. Yes, I view cash as an asset class, and could be heavily weighted in cash during times that supply is in control of the market. I review this ranking on a daily basis.

Why Quality and Supply and Demand? Because it is commonsensical, evidence based, and removes emotion. Clients have a limited time horizon to accumulate and live off of those assets. Will those periods be through a good or bad market? The process allows client’s portfolios to adapt to ever changing markets.

2Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan's investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan's flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan's investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state's own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state's tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
