Managing wealth: more than managing an investment portfolio.

My practice is focused on building and fostering enduring relationships with individuals and multigenerational families by helping them navigate complex financial decisions. Leveraging the global resources and intellectual capital of Morgan Stanley, I deliver customized investment strategies that aim to meet short-term goals and create long-term financial success. Through tailored advice and highly personalized service, I work towards the goal of managing, preserving, and growing wealth for my clients and the people that are important to them. Outside of my core practice, I am deeply committed to contributing to the financial literacy of the next generation by educating young people about personal finance and investing.

Throughout my multi-decade career, I have advised clients on matters such as portfolio construction and asset allocation, portfolio risk analysis, passive vs. active investing, pre- and post-retirement planning, education funding, tax-advantaged investing, income strategies, lending products, cybersecurity and identity protection, insurance, liquidity and cash management, opportunities in private equity and alternative investments, and estate planning strategies. I regularly guide clients in addressing unique situational needs or lifelong interests including sustainable investing, philanthropic endeavors, mitigating concentrated positions, financial planning for domestic partnerships, business succession, planning for individuals with special needs, legacy creation, and how to talk to children about wealth.

Originally from Vermont, I am a graduate of Cornell University, where I earned my degree in philosophy with a concentration in ethics. I began my financial career as an Investment Executive with PaineWebber, then joined Morgan Stanley* in February of 2001 as Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor in the Wellesley office.

Currently I live west of Boston with my husband, Richard, and our three daughters. I am actively involved in school, community, charitable and arts activities. For many years I sang with the Zamir Chorale of Boston, and I continue to pursue interests in music, literature, photography and travel.

11Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.

17An investment in an exchange-traded fund (ETF) involves risks similar to those of investing in a broadly based portfolio of equity securities traded on exchange in the relevant securities market, such as market fluctuations caused by such factors as economic and political developments, changes in interest rates and perceived trends in stock prices. The investment return and principal value of ETF investments will fluctuate, so that an investor’s ETF shares, if or when sold, may be worth more or less than the original cost.

Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of an exchange-traded fund (ETF) before investing. The prospectus contains this and other information about the ETF. To obtain a prospectus, contact your Financial Advisor or visit the ETF company’s website. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing.
