Leslie Hidaka is a co-founding member and senior partner of the Hawaii Planning Group at Morgan Stanley. With over 40 years of experience managing the complex financial planning and investment needs of individuals, corporation, foundations, qualified retirement plans, and institutions, Les believes in the importance of listening to each client in order to provide comprehensive wealth management advice. He has leveraged this experience to build a team dedicated to delivering customized strategies and service excellence.

Les is recognized as earning membership in Morgan Stanley’s Masters Club from 2010 to 2020 & the Century Club from 2021 to 2024. He began his career at PaineWebber in 1981, where he formed the Hidaka Financial Consulting Group. In 2007, Les and his team joined Morgan Stanley, later forming the Hawaii Planning Group as Senior Vice President. At Morgan Stanley, he has achieved the titles of: Senior Investment Management Consultant, Portfolio Management Director and Alternative Investments Director.

A graduate of University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor’s degree in finance. Les holds Series 7, 63, 65, Hawaii insurance licenses, and a Certified Investment Management Analyst designation.

Les is actively involved in a variety of community and charitable organizations. He sits on the Board of Kuakini Foundation as Secretary, Treasurer and board member. He is an active member of both The Pacific Club—having served as wine committee chair—and the First Presbyterian Church, having served as finance chair.

In his spare time he enjoys surfing, golfing and yoga. He and his wife, Doreen, have two children, Laura and Aaron, and they spend their spare time with their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Sophie and Klay.

Reid has 28 years of experience in the financial services industry & is currently a Senior Vice President – Senior Portfolio Management Director – Alternative Investments Director - Wealth Advisor. He is one of the founding members and a Senior Partner of the Hawaii Planning Group at Morgan Stanley. The team manages over $3.0 Billion in client assets as of 3/31/2026. He has extensive experience consulting individuals, corporations, foundations & endowments in regard to financial planning, estate planning strategies, retirement planning, investment allocation, & insurance planning needs.

Reid received his BBA from the University of Hawaii & has obtained the Series, 7, 63, 65, Hawaii Life Insurance licenses, & NMLS Mortgage License.

He was selected as a Forbes Best in State Wealth Advisor in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 & 2026, the Hawaii Planning Group was named a Forbes Best In State Wealth Management Teams in 2023, 2024, 2025 & 2026, along with being recognized at Morgan Stanley to the Pace Setters Club from 2014 - 2018 & the Century Club from 2019 - 2025.

Reid spent 7 years at Morgan Stanley (1996 - 2003) as a Financial Advisor working with an institutional consulting group that oversaw $1.3 billion in client assets that focused on foundation/endowment, union pension plans, & corporate accounts. His direct responsibilities were client relationship management, marketing, asset allocation modeling, investment manager search and due diligence, & drafting investment policy statements.

Reid then went on to be a Regional Manager for investment management firm Lord Abbett & Co. from (2004 - 2009). He was at UBS Wealth Management from (2009 - 2013), & returned back to Morgan Stanley in 2013.

He has been actively involved in the community with leadership & membership roles at Big Brothers & Big Sisters Hawaii as a Board of Directors member, Oahu Country Club & Waialae Country Club.

Kenneth Ikeda is a founding member and senior partner of the Hawaii Planning Group at Morgan Stanley. With a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® designation earned in 2002, Ken is an active member of the Financial Planning Association. His background in education equips him with the ability to help simplify the complexities of financial planning and investing, making these concepts accessible to clients. Ken plays a pivotal role in managing the team and engages directly with clients in wealth management, portfolio reviews, asset allocation, research, investment strategies, and comprehensive financial planning.

Ken began his career with the Hidaka Group in 1999 as a financial advisor at UBS PaineWebber, where he obtained his Series 7, 31, 65, and 66 licenses. In 2007, he transitioned with the group to Morgan Stanley. At Morgan Stanley, Ken has achieved the titles of First Vice President, Investment Management Consultant, and Senior Portfolio Manager.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Ken is an alumnus of Punahou School and graduated from Grinnell College in 1990. He furthered his education with a master’s degree in education from Indiana University in 1992. Ken's early career included teaching 4th grade in Hawaii and serving as an executive director for a computer education company in New York City. Currently residing in St. Louis, Missouri, Ken frequently travels back to Hawaii to meet with clients and visit family. He and his wife, Jen, are dedicated to raising their triplet teenage daughters and caring for their household of pets, including three dogs, a bird, a guinea pig, and a cat.

David’s career in the financial services industry began with Smith Barney in 2000. A passionate student of macro-economics and global capital markets, David has extensive experience with portfolio construction and management. David integrates his experience and knowledge of the markets to help guide clients in creating a financial plan to help them achieve their financial goals.

David’s practice includes working closely with individual clients, corporations, retirement plans, non-profits, and foundations to help achieve their goals as well as maintain fiduciary compliance through all phases of the economic cycle.

Alan Tom is a Senior Vice President with 30 years of experience as a Financial Advisor. Prior to working at Morgan Stanley, Alan was a Certified Public Accountant at KPMG, a leading international audit firm. He worked as a CPA for 9 years and was a Senior Manager before joining Smith Barney in 1995. While at Smith Barney, Alan was a member of Smith Barney’s Century Council from 2001 to 2002, and the President’s Council from 2003 to 2008. He currently holds titles as a Senior Investment Management Consultant and Financial Planning Specialist.

Alan is a graduate of Punahou School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and a Master of Science degree in Financial Planning-Tax Concentration from Golden Gate University. He is currently Series 7, 63, 65 licensed along with Hawaii Life Insurance and NMLS Mortgage licenses.

Alan Ho is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^®, Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor with the Hawaii Planning Group at Morgan Stanley. He has 11 years of experience in the financial services industry. Alan focuses on working closely with individuals and families to develop comprehensive financial plans. He believes that having an actionable plan coupled with ongoing education and an investment strategy is important in helping individuals work toward their retirement goals.

Alan began his career as a Wealth Advisor Associate with Morgan Stanley in 2015 before becoming a Financial Advisor in 2016. He earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® designation in 2018 and holds the Series 7 and 66 licenses. Since joining the firm in 2015, Alan has worked with hundreds of individuals and families to create comprehensive financial plans that include retirement, estate planning strategies, investment planning, and healthcare planning strategies. Alan’s goal is to educate clients so they can make informed financial decisions.

Alan graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Finance, Management, and International Business in 2013.

He and his wife Amy live in Aina Haina. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, golfing, and reading.

Jon Tsukamoto began his career with Nomura Securities, where he worked for two years before joining Paine Webber in 1991. In 2007 Jon, along with the Hidaka Group, joined Morgan Stanley as a Second Vice President in Wealth management.

Jon graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, and earned his Series 7, 63, 65 and Hawaii insurance licenses.

Jon's practice is built around client relationships that are developed over time through different business and personal experiences. Jon helps clients plan for the different milestones in their lives by identifying goals and dreams. Together with the client, he develops a plan to help achieve these life goals and make their dreams a reality. Jon's commitment is to be of service to clients both professionally and personally by making a difference in their lives.

Currently, Jon serves as a Director for the Waialae Country Club for 2021 - 2023. From 2019 – 2020, Jon served as the Chairman of the Board for the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce. Jon is also a member of Friends of Hickam.

Jon enjoys fly fishing and golfing. He lives in Niu Valley with his wife, Carolyn, and their two children, Jaron and Cailyn.

Brandon Yamamoto is First Vice President and a Financial Advisor of the Hawaii Planning Group at Morgan Stanley. He earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® designation in 2011 allowing him to help develop comprehensive financial plans. His responsibilities include portfolio reviews, constructing portfolios, manager research along with financial planning and investment management for his clients.

He holds the series 7 and 66 licenses. Brandon graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in finance. He and his wife Sheena live in Mililani with their children Talon and Andie. Brandon enjoys coaching youth baseball and being around family and friends.

Ryan Matsuura is a Financial Advisor and integral member of the Hawaii Planning Group. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® practitioner, Ryan maps out and executes comprehensive plans to help assess, evaluate and simplify client's financial future through the development of comprehensive, goals- based financial plans.

A member of the team since 2013, his responsibilities include financial planning, portfolio construction, manager analysis, and portfolio analytics.

A graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Ryan received his BBA in finance in 2013. During his junior and senior years, Ryan spent summers as an intern at Morgan Stanley where he developed his interest in helping people plan for the future.

After completing his education, Ryan stayed with Morgan Stanley and became a Financial Planning Associate before being promoted into his Financial Advisor role.

Since 2020 Ryan has been included as a member of the Firm’s Pacesetter’s Club, a global recognition program for Financial Advisors who, early in their career, have demonstrated a high level of professional standards and world class client service.

Ryan is happily married to his wife, Christy. They spend most of their time enjoying parenthood with their son, Ty and daughter Kylie. When he has moments to spare, you could find him surfing or fishing on Hawaii's coastlines or enjoying a round of golf.

Lance serves as a financial advisor and a Vice President with The Hawaii Planning Group at Morgan Stanley. Shelley is a Financial Advisor and has worked with the Hawaii Planning Group at Morgan Stanley since 2016. She is also a Workplace Advisor, guiding individuals on how to effectively manage executive stock compensation.

Shelley loves meeting with clients and learning about their dreams, goals, and plans for the future. She works with clients on investing to work towards funding educational goals, completing retirement and healthcare planning, developing estate planning strategies, and pursuing charitable giving endeavors. Her area of focus is helping clients create, implement, and monitor their personal financial plans. Shelley also works with business clients and non-profit organizations to manage their investments and company retirement plans. She is a member of Morgan Stanley’s Pacesetter’s Club, a global program for Financial Advisors who, early in their career, have demonstrated high professional standards and excellent client service.

Prior to working at Morgan Stanley, she began her career in the wealth management industry in 2009 at AllianceBernstein. As a Senior Associate with Bernstein Private Wealth Management in Los Angeles, she led a team managing $1 billion in private client assets, including endowment and foundation assets. In 2013, she joined Bernstein's Wealth Planning and Analysis group as a Senior Analyst. She was responsible for educating ultra-high net worth clients on managing executive compensation, wealth transfer strategies and charitable giving strategies in California, Colorado and Hawaii.

In her free time, she is active in supporting the local community and serves on the Board of Directors for Child & Family Service, a Hawaii based non-profit organization. She also volunteers as the Chair for the Child & Family Service Guild on Oahu. She is an Associate Member of the Hawaii Estate Planning Council and previously served on the Board of the Hawaii Society of Business Professionals. She enjoys cooking comfort food, golfing, spending time outdoors at the beach or a hike, and playing with her French bulldog, Evie.

Born and raised in Maui, right in Kahului, Matt knew he wanted to experience life off the islands, so after graduating high school he moved to Colorado. There Matt received his Bachelor’s degree in Business, with an emphasis in Sports Management and Marketing, from University of Colorado (CU) Denver. He then began his career in sports working for the Colorado Rockies (pro baseball team) as a field guard, “protecting big assets,” and then with the Denver Nuggets (pro basketball team) in the box office. Matt went on to work for Nike, where he developed business relationship skills, as well as honed abilities in customer service. From these experiences, he knew he wanted to continue being in the business of helping people.

Matt relocated back to Maui in 2017 to be with family, and to apply his profile to the financial services industry. Afterall, math was his best subject, and he was particularly interested in trying to help clients feel confident about managing their money and reaching their financial goals. From the onset of being back on the island, Matt joined David Toyomura's practice in wealth management, striving daily to help clients receive a great service experience, especially in this new digital world we live in.

While not working, Matt enjoys watching sports, playing a round of golf, and hanging out with family and friends. You can often find him playing basketball at the Kahului Park outdoor courts.
