Working with Business Accounts

Hamilton has over 10 years experience working with over 250 homeowner's associations, condominium associations, Co-Ops and non-profit organizations. Hamilton is experienced with the fiduciary responsibility incumbent in directing association assets. Working alongside Morgan Stanley gives your organization the security and regulatory requirements needed to confidently work with Hamilton to achieve your short- and long-term goals.

    Fixed Income Investment Approach
Although none of our association accounts have identical portfolios, common themes connect our clients. The central theme is to invest in a laddered portfolio of FDIC Certificate of Deposits and U.S. Treasury obligations with an average maturity of three to seven years for longer term strategic reserves and 0 to 360 days for short term operating accounts.

The average maturity of the portfolio is a function of cash flow analysis for each association and our analysis of relative value presented by the yield curve. This disciplined approach has proven to be successful through many interest rate environments and provides the board with the authority to remain fully invested. We strongly recommend, and our clients prefer, investment in individual bonds as opposed to bond funds.

    Administration
Prior to opening an account, we assist each association with the formulation of a repeatable investment strategy to ensure your organization has a plan in place in the event of changing officers on your Board. Monthly statement of accounts and confirmations of all transactions are provided to each client, the client's management firm, and the client's auditor. Periodic in person review of account is conducted for officers and board of directors at the association’s convenience. Real time access to account information is available via phone from our office as well as via the Morgan Stanley Online secure website. Your account is constantly monitored and information of timely and relevant nature conveyed to your officers. All cash balances are fully invested in FDIC money market funds and are available for withdrawal by authorized officers of the association via ACH, check writing or wire instructions to our office.

    Liquidity
All of our FDIC insured Certificates of Deposit and U.S. Treasury Obligations may be sold prior to maturity in $1,000 denominations at their current market value with no interest penalty. The market value may be more or less than the original investment. Learn more on how we take the precautions to safeguard the assets you entrust to us by clicking down below.

    Flexibility
Depending on your Association’s investment time horizon and verifying suitability within the language of your bylaws, we may consider including equity investments such as Mutual Funds, Exchange Traded Funds and individual stocks to support your longer-term goals.
