My Approach to Financial Planning

Creating a financial plan and sticking to it is no easy task, however the process I use when building out plans for clients simplifies the struggle. I believe in a goals-based planning process that doesn't sacrifice present day needs and wants for future goals. The steps below outline what you can expect once we start working together.

Step: 1 Getting To Know You

  • We'll have a conversation to get to know one another and set the foundations for a relationship built on trust and full transparency
  • This is your opportunity to ask me any questions about myself, my process, or how we will be working together

Step 2: Assessing Your Finances

  • I will look over all of your financial documents including tax filings, income statements, wills, trusts, and account statements to determine where you are currently at
  • We will have another discussion about your current performance and what strategies, goals, and processes you have been implementing previously
  • I use this time to figure out your investment philosophy and learn what recommendations would be most suitable for you and your plan

Step 3: Presentation and Discussion

  • I'll present the finished financial plan to you with recommendations, tax strategies, risk management strategies, and any other additions we previously discussed
  • This is your opportunity to ask any questions you may have about why certain investments are suitable or why a specific strategy was recommended
  • We will also collaborate with your CPA, attorney, and other professionals to ensure their input and concerns are taken into account

Step 4: Implementation

  • Once given your final approval, all necessary transfers will take place and your financial plan will be implemented with the recommended strategies and investments we previously discussed
  • I believe in full transparency and will keep you informed every step of the way

Step 5: Ongoing Performance Monitoring

  • As your plan is implemented, I will provide consistent monitoring to ensure goals are being met, performance is better or as expected, and answer any questions you may have
  • As your personal or financial situation changes and the market moves, I will call you an update your portfolio accordingly
