Forte/Graviet/Medrano Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley

A professional in the financial services industry since 1977, Charles began his career locally with an international brokerage firm . After 31 years there, the team moved to Morgan Stanley in November 2008 to take advantage of the breadth of investment and research services available. Charles now serves as Senior Portfolio Manager of Forte/Graviet Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley alongside Dotti Graviet.

As one of less than 4% of financial advisors at Morgan Stanley to achieve the prestigious Family Wealth Director designation as of January 2022, Charles continues to meet stringent quantitative and qualitative requirements set by the firm. Charles’ successful completion of this rigorous program has allowed the team to offer many of the firm's family office resources.

Charles completed the Certified Portfolio Manager certification from Columbia University in May, 2011, making him distinctively qualified to set the long-term direction of the team’s investment strategy and concentrates on securities selection, risk control and asset allocation for the team’s discretionary investment strategies.

Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Charles has lived in Santa Fe since 1976. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of Albuquerque.

When out of the office, he enjoys exercising, reading, and working on his home and garden. Charles currently serves on the boards of the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and the Santa Fe Opera. He is past President of Visiting Nurse Services and past Treasurer of the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival.

In 2021, Charles was nominated as one of the top wealth advisors in the state of New Mexico in Forbes' Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list as of January 2022.

As a partner with Forte/Graviet Wealth Management Group, Dotti embodies her personal motto, ‘it matters’ by not only assisting clients through significant life transitions, but also by empowering women on the subject of finance to help guide them to a position of strength and confidence.

In 1989 Dotti began her career in finance locally in the operations department of an international brokerage firm. Soon thereafter, she moved into the role of Registered Client Associate followed by Investment Associate; each role providing an opportunity to build upon her knowledge base. In 2008 she moved with the team to Morgan Stanley. Her role within the team changed when she transitioned to partner and Financial Advisor in 2015. In this new role she has expanded the depth of her services to include estate planning strategies, retirement planning, financial planning and insurance strategies.

Dotti earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) designation from the College of Financial Planning in 2020. The CRPC enables experienced advisors to assist individuals focused on retiring define a “road map to retirement.” She has a distinguishing talent to assist clients in identifying pre- and post-retirement needs. Furthermore, as an active contributor in the management of the team’s portfolios, Dotti ensures client’s financial plans genuinely encompass their goals and aspirations.

Philanthropy, especially organizations focused on supporting youth, are of particular importance to Dotti. Formerly, she served as Foundation President for one of Santa Fe’s charter schools where she was instrumental in the early stages of economic development. Currently, Dotti serves as Treasurer of the board of directors for The Mountain Center; whose mission is to transform lives and strengthen communities through personal discovery and social change.

A resident of Santa Fe since 1978, Dotti now finds herself in one of her most important roles yet: a grandmother of five. In her spare time, Dotti enjoys gardening and home improvement projects.

Justin Medrano, CIMA^® works closely with successful families to develop customized, sophisticated strategies that help align their financial resources with their long-term vision. His practice includes comprehensive financial planning, active investment management, and access to private market opportunities - all built around the specific goals and values of each client.

Justin is a graduate of Harvard University, where he completed academic minors in economics and government. He holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA^®) designation, along with certificates in Private Markets (awarded by the Investments & Wealth Institute) and Investment Theory & Practice (from the Yale School of management). He is currently a CFA Level 1 candidate.

In addition to his work as a Financial Advisor, Justin serves as Branch Manger for Morgan Stanley’s Santa Fe office, where he supports the professional development of Financial Advisors and Client Service Associate, helping them leverage the full resources of the firm on behalf of their clients.

Outside the office, Justin serves on the Board of Directors of the Santa Fe Symphony, enthusiastically cheers for his favorite sports teams, and strives to read one new book each week.

Bernadette has multifaceted responsibilities all of which are centered on providing extraordinary client service. Among her many contributions to the team, she coordinates the group's overall day-to-day operations, and implements computer-based business management systems that increase efficiency in handling client requests and service matters. Her capabilities in this position are greatly appreciated by all who experience her professional demeanor and rapid execution of requests.

Additionally, in her role as Portfolio Associate, she provides essential technical support for the management of our various investment portfolios; from tracking bond prices to calculating stock values.

A Santa Fe native, Bernadette, formerly worked locally with several international brokerage firms. She joined the Forte/Graviet Team when the practice was moved to Morgan Stanley in 2008. She has her accounting certificate from DeVry Technical Institute in Phoenix and has attended Santa Fe Community College to work on her computer science degree.

Bernadette is a former coach for basketball, softball and little league baseball. She still remains a dedicated sports fanatic and enjoys reading historical fiction.

Shannon launched her finance career in 1989, starting in the operations department of a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm. Over the years, she’s had the privilege of collaborating with remarkable colleagues and clients alike. Her journey has taken her through regional and national firms in both support and leadership roles, and she now delights in working directly with clients once again.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Shannon is embarking on an exciting new chapter in the sunny Southwest. With three grown children – two in Portland and one in Dallas – her passion for the area was ignited during a visit to Santa Fe, where the enchanting blend of shimmering snow, ever-present light, warm community, and vibrant art scene captured her heart.

Outside of work, Shannon enjoys exploring new places, basking in rays of sunshine with a good book, sewing, painting, and crafting unique pieces of jewelry.
