Meet Fixell-Langer Group

About Daniel J Fixell

Dan Fixell is a Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor with the Fixell/Langer Group at Morgan Stanley. He began his investment career with the firm in 1993.

Dan got his start in the financial services industry as a corporate lending officer after graduating from Columbia Business School with a degree in finance. He started working for Citibank and then Bankers Trust working with mid-sized privately held companies primarily in the apparel and import/export business.

Dan started out his career with Morgan Stanley (formerly Smith Barney) working with professionals in the mental health field (psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers) helping them establish and manage their retirement plans. Over the years, Dan branched off to work with high net worth families by helping them grow and preserve their wealth.

Dan has always has a holistic approach with his clients working with them on estate planning strategies, insurance needs (life and long term care ), 529 education pans as well as managing their general investments. Along with being a graduate of the University of Maryland with a BA in political science, Dan is also a certified financial planner (CFP)

Dan and his wife, Robin reside in NYC along with their dog, Joey. They are proud parents of two grown sons and two grandchildren. When not in the city they spend time at their weekend home in NW, Connecticut where Dan bikes, exercises and enjoys working on his home. Dan and his wife enjoy spending their vacation time traveling the world to exotic and fun places. They have visited over 25 countries and continue to explore more.

About Brian D Langer

Brian Langer is a results driven Senior Portfolio Manager and Financial Advisor with the Fixell-Langer group at Morgan Stanley with over 20 plus years of industry experience. Given Brian’s distinctive background in senior roles in equity research and trading, he is well experienced to manage client’s assets through a deep understanding of the capital markets.

Brian earned a B.S.M from Tulane University in New Orleans and followed that up with an MBA in Finance from the Warrington School of Business at the University of Florida. Brian began his career in New York City in 1997 as an equity analyst with Alex Brown covering Food and Beverage companies. He later went on to be named Partner with a leading trading firm on the New York Stock Exchange. All these skills would provide the foundation for Brian to begin his Wealth Management career with Morgan Stanley in 2006.

Over the years, Brian has built a successful practice around advising families on how to better understand and manage their total financial wealth. Brian’s fundamental approach is always listening to what is important to clients and focus on a goals based practice. Brian focuses on providing tailored wealth management advice and solutions based on each client’s needs. Brian’s motivation is fueled by the significant impact he strives to have on the quality of his client’s lives.

Brian resides in Livingston, NJ with his wife Elissa and their children Ben and Nate. In his spare time, Brian loves to cook, play golf and spend time with family and friends.
