Meet Five Rivers Group

About David Cox

David has over 30 years of experience helping clients manage their total financial planning with a focus on retirement planning and portfolio management.

He is a past faculty member for the National Business Institute and Lorman Education Services where he conducted seminars for attorneys, CPAs, trust officers and nursing home administrators on topics such as Medicaid, Long Term Care Insurance Planning, and Estate Planning Strategies and Trusts.

David is a decorated armed forces veteran who served as a security specialist charged with providing personal security for Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf and served in the Middle East during the Persian Gulf War. He is a 4th Dan Black Belt and was an instructor in the Korean martial arts of Tae Kwon Do and Chon-Tu Kwon Hapkido, and practices the ancient healing art, Kimoodo.

David is married with two children and resides in Beavercreek, Ohio. He is an avid bicyclist and hunter dedicated to being a responsible steward of the environment.

About Doug Cline

Doug’s focus at the Five Rivers Group at Morgan Stanley in Beavercreek, Ohio is cultivating and helping enrich relationships with new and existing clients. Doug works closely with each client to develop and implement innovative, customized solutions designed to help meet their current and future investment needs. He focuses on providing guidance to clients who are considering or already in retirement; helping to analyze their income needs and develop strategies designed to meet those needs.

Doug began his career in 1984 and has been with Morgan Stanley for over 40 years. From 1993 to 2004 Doug served as Branch Manager of the Morgan Stanley office in Dayton, OH. In this capacity, he was responsible for supervision, recruiting, sales management, and branch profitability.

Doug earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati’s School of Business Administration and an Executive Education Certificate from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He was an elected member of the Centerville City Council from 1999 to 2013 and served two terms as Deputy Mayor. Doug also served as Precinct Captain for the Montgomery County Republican Party. He is a past President of the Dayton Ohio Habitat for Humanity Board of Trustees and has traveled on mission trips to New Orleans, LA and Gulfport, MS to aid and benefit victims of the Hurricane Katrina disaster; and to Guatemala to build homes for Habitat for Humanity International. Doug currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Grandview Foundation. Doug is also a member of Mended Hearts, an organization that offers support and counseling to cardiac patients.

Doug is married with 5 children and resides in Centerville, Ohio where he is an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church. Doug is an avid golfer and enjoys boating and fishing with his family.

About Grace Valentine

Grace Valentine is a graduate of the University of Dayton, where she earned a degree in Finance. During her time at the university, she found her passion for all things investment related and became involved in the Davis Center for Portfolio Management. As an Equity Analyst, Grace aided in the analysis and management of portfolios, further expanding her knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies.
In 2022, Grace joined Morgan Stanley as an intern where she gained invaluable experience in the industry. In her internship, Grace saw how she could use her knowledge of the financial markets to help individuals understand and work towards their financial goals. After seeing the positive impact she could have in this role, she became a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley.
Grace serves in leadership positions for both the University of Dayton and Cincinnati, serving as co-social chair for the University of Dayton Alumni association and as a volunteer teacher at both universities Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes. As a volunteer teacher, Grace shares her experience in the financial markets with individuals wanting to expand their knowledge and understanding.
A Dayton area native, Grace now resides in Mason, OH. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time working out, experimenting with new recipes or making memories with friends and family.
