About Me

I was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada; my parents were American so I was fortunate to learn life lessons from the perspective of two similar, but different, cultures. Thankfully I was blessed to attend the University of WA and, after graduating, went looking for adventure, moved to NYC and landed a gig as a research analyst, in the telecom field, for a mid-sized institutional research firm. It was the dawn of the coming explosion in wireless connectivity, media expansion and the beginnings of the internet. From there I was lucky enough to parlay that experience into a 16 year career in corporate consulting and investments with KPMG Consulting and Duff & Phelps. In 2010 I took a leap of faith, left corporate consulting to build what I hoped to be an impactful financial advisory business. 16 years later (where does the time go?), I’m part of a great company and a local team working with some of the most interesting and dynamic families anywhere and I couldn’t be happier as a result. Although my team and I have been recognized by Forbes and other organizations as “Top Advisors,” I’m far prouder of the testimonials clients have provided us (please see on this webpage). Outside of work I’m a proud dad of two wonderful grown children, I like to be active in the community, outdoors whenever possible and I will always make time to a call a friend.

Your Benefits

On the surface your family's success looks to most people like it was relatively easily obtained – you started a business/career, went to work, took vacations, got promoted and as the years passed your wealth accumulated. Other than close friends and associates, it all seemed to everyone to be…by the book. But it wasn't.

For sixteen years I've had a front row seat to family's financial lives where I've learned about how they got to where they are - and in virtually every case the story includes sacrifice, risk taking, enormous amounts of time, intelligence, luck and yet more sacrifice. Wealth is hard earned. I understand and respect that. Furthermore, although wealth is most certainly a blessing it also changes your life, creating new responsibilities and adding complexity.

Our service approach is designed to accentuate the positives of your wealth, providing you with a sense of freedom, freeing up time and giving you control, while minimizing your stress and complexity. Helping you stay focused on what matters – family, hobbies, experiences, intellectual growth, accomplishments, being present, having fun.

Let's work together to extend your success, preserve it and transfer it to future generations (and/or charity) with thoughtfulness and intent. You worked hard. Let's make the most of it.

    Our Role

When I was newly minted college grad I landed my first "real" job in institutional investments in NYC where I worked alongside an older woman in the office who seemed to have numerous personal advisors in her life (legal, tax, business, financial, fashion, etc.), which piqued my interest. So I asked her why she kept so many relationships. She told me that in her experience life was more enjoyable, and she made better decisions, when she had intelligent, trustworthy partners to call on.

Building on this ideal, it is our hope that our clients benefit from our objectivity, discretion, perspective and experience. Specific steps to deliver benefits include:

    • Active communication. We are a sounding board, minimizing mistakes by helping you think rationally about your wealth.
    • Long term financial and estate planning.
    • Investment selection, strategy & allocation.
    • Organizing financial assets and communicating with other advisors.
    • Intelligent uses of debt and insurance.
    • Charitable Giving.
