My Story

A seasoned Wealth Management professional for more than 21 years, Darryl serves as a trusted Financial Advisor to four generations of ultra-high net worth families, corporate executives, and business owners both in domestic and international locations navigate the financial and emotional complexities surrounding different life events. Darryl is dedicated to always doing the right thing and giving his clients a signature white glove experience with highly personalized advice. He collaborates with outside tax, legal and medical care professionals to help his clients capture opportunities and avoid costly mistakes.

As a Senior Member at the Mountain View Group, Darryl heads the advanced planning activities for the team. He focuses on the creation and implementation of financial plans, portfolio management, philanthropy, insurance, and estate planning strategies and coordinating with internal resources and outside professionals for proper planning.

Throughout his career, Darryl has always been committed to advanced learning and continuous education. He has received a number of important industry designations including the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER tm, CHARTERED FINANCIAL CONSULTANT tm, CERTIFIED DIVORCE FINANCIAL ANALYST tm, CERTIFICATION IN LONG TERM CARE tm, and CERTIFIED EXIT PLANNER ADVISOR tm. As a CHARTERED SPECIAL NEEDS CONSULTANT®, Darryl is one of the few advanced credentialed professionals focusing on the unique considerations in planning for special needs families and caring for loved ones with disabilities.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2011, Darryl served as an Assistant Vice President and Financial Advisor for six years at Wells Fargo Advisors with the same esteemed team lead by Jack Wong. Darryl began his career in financial services as a Financial Representative at Northwestern Mutual in 2003.

Darryl is recognized as leader in the financial services arena for many years through numerous local and national publications and is frequently sought out for his knowledge and empathetic practice. Darryl has been featured in Forbes Magazine as "2025 Forbes Best in State Wealth Advisor- Northern California Private Wealth", "2023-2025 Best In State Wealth Management Teams", “2020 Top Next Gen Wealth Advisors Nationwide”, “2019 Best In State Next Gen Wealth Advisor- Northern California”, and “2018 America’s Top 1,000 Next Gen Wealth Advisors”. Barron's Magazine recognized the Mountain View Group in the 2025 Top 250 Private Wealth Management Teams. Additionally, he is a part of the prestigious Century Club, an elite group composed of Morgan Stanley’s top Financial Advisors and serves as one of ten Financial Advisors nationwide as a Pacific Coast Region Representative for the Morgan Stanley National Trust Services Advisory Council. Darryl serves as a Subject Matter Expert, and a Volunteer National Exam Question Writer and Reviewer for the CFP Board of Standards and is Morgan Stanley's first National Strategic Partner in Special Needs Planning.

Darryl is actively involved within the local community as President Emeritus and Board of Directors Member of the USC Marshall Alumni Association Bay Area Chapter, and President Emeritus of the USC Alumni Club of Silicon Valley. Additionally, Darryl is an active member and Programs Committee Chair Emeritus of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, Member of The Academy of Special Needs Planners, Elite Member of the Investments & Wealth Institute, President and Board of Directors Member of Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council, Board of Directors Member of NAIFA- Silicon Valley, and a Morgan Stanley Silicon Valley Market Co-Chair of the Financial Planning Club. An avid meditator for past 25+ years and a former ordained monk, Darryl is a part of the Mindful on Wall Street Movement and a Morgan Stanley Mindfulness Club West Coast Facilitator and Speaker. Over the past two and a half decades, he has competed professionally in various local BBQ competitions as a seasoned BBQ Pit Master.

Darryl graduated with a Bachelors of Science (Entrepreneurship) degree with Recognition from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business, advanced professional education from the American College of Financial Services, and Upasampada Ordination from the Theravada Buddhist Society of America (Buddhist Monk Certification). He lives in San Jose with his wife and his two young children along with fifteen BBQ pits.

    About Nhu V. Dong

    Nhu was the second member to join the group after Jack and has over 19 years of experience in the financial services industry. Nhu is responsible for leading the Group's investment manager research efforts and serves the financial planning needs of several of the Group's largest clients. She also serves as an analyst for the Group's Investment Committee and drives the team's portfolio analytics discipline across a wide spectrum of traditional and alternative asset classes to support the team's sophisticated and diverse clientele.

    Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2011, Nhu held a similar role at Wells Fargo Advisors for eight years. Nhu holds a B.A. degree in International Development from the University of California, Berkeley. She currently lives in San Jose with her husband and two young children. She is fluent in Vietnamese and enjoys outdoor activities and arts in her free time.

    About Adam Pasco

    Adam joined the Mountain View Group in 2018 after graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo earning a B.S. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Prior to joining the team full-time in 2018, Adam worked as the Group's summer intern in 2017 and helped with day to day operations as well as event planning.

    Currently, Adam supports the financial planning needs of clients, implementing Morgan Stanley's technology with the use of the Goals Planning System (GPS) and LifeView® planning tools. He also advises on annuity products and helps to assist clients with regards to their cash flow needs. With Morgan Stanley's commitment to investing in technology, Adam is a resource for the team in adopting new technology.

    About Areeba Abdullah

    Areeba is responsible for working closely with the team’s clients to handle their day-to-day financial needs. Her role aligns with her professional strengths, including her can-do attitude, empathetic perspective, and ability to make personal connections with a broad range of clients. Areeba began her career at Virtus Partners, an alternative investment firm, and subsequently joined Morgan Stanley in 2018 as a Branch Administrator in the Menlo Park office. She holds a B.S. in finance and economics from the University of Maryland.
    Areeba was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, and today she lives in Mountain View with her husband. In her free time, she loves to travel, hike, exercise, play board games and try different
    cuisines.

    About Lin Wu

    Lin cultivates and enhances new and existing client relationships by communicating proactively with clients, processing client requests, resolving inquiries and ensuring that key information and documentation remain current. Lin has worked in the financial industry since 2002, starting as a senior personal banker at Bank of America and later joining Wells Fargo as a private banker, where she worked with Jack Wong.
    Lin was born in China, moved to the Bay Area in 1994 and now lives in Fremont with her husband and two daughters. Away from the office, she enjoys pending time with her family and watching her daughter play golf.

    About Jimmy Morimoto

    James supports the Mountain View Group in modernizing the client experience through an elevated service model. He assists with the development and growth of business through engaging and utilizing the full capabilities of the firm via Morgan Stanley Online and other digital tools and resources.
    Originally from Maui, Hawaii, James recently graduated from Marquette University with a B.S. in business economics and finance. He has gained valuable industry experience through an internship at an investment advisory firm.
    Outside of work, James enjoys watching college wrestling, lifting weights and spending time with his wife and two sons.

    Esmeralda Valdez is a Client Service Associate at Morgan Stanley, where she supports both new and existing client relationships with attentive and thoughtful care. She is a supportive force within the team, helping to enhance group efficiency through calendar coordination, assisting with client record accuracy, and contributing to internal initiatives.
    Before joining Morgan Stanley, Esmeralda spent over three years in the Freight Tech industry, where she advanced into a director level role focused on account operations and management. Her time in the space sharpened her ability to navigate complex systems while maintaining strong attention to detail and prioritizing the client experience. Esmeralda earned her Bachelor of Science in Statistics, with a minor in General Business, from the University of California, Riverside. As she continues to grow in the industry, she is passionate about pursuing her financial licenses to further support her team and clients at the highest level.
    She speaks conversational Spanish and, outside of work, enjoys painting, hiking, vinyl record collecting, nature photography, and engaging with her new local community in San Mateo.
