My Story and Services

For more than 30 years, I've had the privilege of helping hundreds of clients with their complex financial planning needs, including employees of Fortune 500 corporations, C-suite executives, business owners, retirees, and their families.

Relationships are at the heart of my practice. I believe financial planning is about more than numbers; it is about understanding you, your family, your priorities, and what you want your future to look like. By getting to know you on a personal level, I can help provide guidance that's tailored to your lifestyle, not just your portfolio. My goal is to be a reliable resource you can call whenever financial questions arise.

With my CRPC designation, I'm well-equipped to address important retirement planning considerations, such as minimizing sequence-of-returns risk, Roth IRA conversions and generating reliable retirement income. It's also critical to factor in long-term care and Social Security issues that arise throughout the retirement planning process.

One area of my work that is especially meaningful to me is working with widows. Having watched my mother navigate the financial challenges that followed the loss of my father, I understand how overwhelming these transitions can be. My goal is to provide clear guidance, simplify complex financial decisions, and to ease the client's mind during especially difficult times.

The markets will always experience ebbs and flows, but successful investing is about staying focused on long-term goals rather than reacting to short-term emotions. I help clients understand the behavioral side of finance so they can make thoughtful, disciplined decisions regardless of market conditions. Above all, I manage my clients' money in the same manner that I manage my own. Having guided clients through multiple market cycles, I strive to provide steady advice and reassurance when it's needed most.

For my efforts, I was recognized as a Five Star Wealth Manager Award winner in 2026. However, my proudest honor is the ongoing loyalty shown to me by my clients.

Five Star Wealth Advisor Award This award was issued in 2026. The award was determined based on an evaluation process conducted by Five Star Professional based on objective criteria from 9/10/25 – 2/27/26).

The Client Experience:

When you work with us, you are treated as family. We pride ourselves on the close relationships we have with our clients and are committed to returning client calls same day, always eager to ease any concerns or address questions you may have.

Not only are we always available to you, but your family as well. We encourage the next generation to have a good grasp of the fundamentals of finance as they will be the future stewards of family wealth. Through personal phone calls, education materials and seminars by Morgan Stanley, our goal is to set up the next generation for financial success.

We utilize our extensive experience to work in tandem with your estate planning attorney to ensure your wishes and needs come to fruition. Even the most well-developed estate plans can only be properly implemented when your financial accounts are set up in a way that supports that plan. Whether it be updating beneficiaries or placing assets in trusts, we are there to work with you and your attorney every step of the way.

We strive to make tax-season as painless as possible for you. With your permission, all documentation necessary to complete your tax return is sent directly to your accountant. In addition, we work with you and your accountant to ensure your financial plan supports and maximizes your tax strategy.

We know you have choices as to where you invest your money, and we do not take the trust you instill in us lightly. Through total wealth management, we utilize our deep and broad resources to manage the complexities of all your financial needs under one roof. It is our unwavering commitment to ensure that you are maximizing all that our team and Morgan Stanley has to offer.

Working Together

Every client should have a financial plan that serves as the roadmap for your financial future. Here's a step-by-step look at the process we'll go through when you become a client, and how your plan will be developed.

Tab Image
Step 1: Discovery

Our relationship begins by getting to know you as a person. We'll talk about your priorities, aspirations and concerns. We'll also take a close look at your assets, credit, and liquidity needs to understand your entire financial landscape. Together, we'll outline your objectives based on your near-term and long-term plans, timeline and risk tolerance.

Step 2: Evaluation and Creation

The next step is to build a customized roadmap to help protect and reach your goals. We'll explore strategies tailored to your goals that may include retirement planning, healthcare, estate planning and more. We'll support your plan by constructing an investment strategy that allows you to meet your desired income with the least amount of risk possible.

Step 3: Act

With your plan in place, we'll move into action. I'll guide you through the implementation phase, and factor in potential life events such as a home sale, inheritance, divorce, business transition or other possibilities while always considering the potential tax impacts of these events.

Step 4: Monitor and Adjust

This is an often overlooked, yet critical aspect of financial planning. As your life evolves, so should your plan. In addition to annual reviews and regular conference calls, we'll monitor your portfolio making adjustments as needed for market shifts, tax law changes and ever-changing goals. Additionally, I consult with your existing CPA and estate attorney to better ensure all components of your financial life are working in harmony. I'm also happy to recommend a CPA or estate attorney from my network of professionals with whom I have long-standing relationships. As always, the singular focus is to help maximize your returns while minimizing your risks.

Two Key Areas of Focus

    Icon Image
    Alternative Investments

Alternative investments go beyond traditional stocks and bonds. They include private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real estate, and infrastructure. For qualified investors, alternative investments can help grow and protect your wealth, offering the potential for enhanced returns, portfolio diversification, lower volatility, and greater tax efficiency. Moreover, alternatives or private market exposure can offer diversification in challenging market environments and have outperformed the public markets (traditional stock and bond portfolios) in rising rate environments and equity bear markets.

Morgan Stanley is an industry leader in alternative investments, with extensive experience, scale, and reach, providing access to exclusive offerings, preeminent fund managers, and innovative investment opportunities at attractive prices. Each year, only about 7% of alternative funds meet our highest standards and are approved from the 900-1,000 funds reviewed.

Additionally, my Alternative Investments Director designation reflects my significant experience in the area and in-depth knowledge of the products available on Morgan Stanley's platform. Using this knowledge over the years, I have crafted portfolios that include alternative investment exposure which enhances diversification in an effort to increase returns while minimizing risk.

    Tax-Managed Investing

While some advisors only think about tax management around Tax Day or at year-end, I take a different approach. I focus on tax management throughout the year. Incorporating tax considerations is most effective when utilized in portfolio construction. By integrating tax awareness from day one, I'm able to help clients improve their after-tax outcome, and manage gains more strategically by making investment decisions with a broader, long-term perspective.

Using this proactive approach to tax management can potentially lead to a variety of favorable outcomes, also known as tax alpha. This includes holding investments longer to be taxed at capital gains rates rather than ordinary income rates, and having greater flexibility to take advantage of tax-friendly opportunities as they arise throughout the year.

My holistic mindset redarding tax management begins with every client from the beginning and continues throughout our relationship. The ultimate goal is to allow clients to keep more of their money for themselves, their families and their passions.

10Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan's investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan's flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan's investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state's own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state's tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice.
