Welcome!

I began my career in the Financial Services industry over 20 years ago. My clients are busy people - they don't have the time, resources, or perhaps just the interest in managing their own assets -- I worry about their retirement so that they can focus on what's happening in their life now.

My practice focuses on financial planning based investment management. I work with clients to develop personalized financial plans by helping them to set specific goals and objectives to plan for retirement, to make investment decisions, to save for college, and to manage their insurance needs.

I grew up in Northern Virginia. I graduated from the University of Virginia, earning a degree in Rhetoric & Communications Studies as well as a Master’s of Education. After positions as a television news reporter and in marketing, I returned to working for my family’s staffing service, managing one of their offices. I found my true calling, in financial services, when my family’s Financial Advisor suggested that I come work with him at Solomon Smith Barney after my parents sold their business. I went on to build my own practice, drawing on my small business experience to help business owners and a wide-array of clients including corporate executives, professionals, and families working hard to build wealth for college expenses and retirement.

In addition, I have served on the board of the non-profits such as Washington Women’s Leadership Initiative and enjoy volunteering for youth sports and other community activities. I am married to my college sweetheart, John, and live with our two sons in Oak Hill, VA.

6Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan's investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan's flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan's investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state's own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state's tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information.
