Personalized Solutions

Using the experience, intellectual capital and global resources of the firm, Christine helps each of the families in her practice to meet their specific and most critical goals. Here are some of the questions we help our clients answer every day:

    Icon Image
    Financial Planning

Life is constantly changing. How do I prepare for a more secure future knowing that certain events – like a divorce or a death in the family – can dramatically impact my plans?

    Icon Image
    Retirement Planning

Have I saved enough for retirement so I can maintain my current lifestyle without worrying I'll run out of money? What is the best way to re-invest my 401(k) when I get ready to leave my company and retire?

    Icon Image
    Asset Organization

I have assets spread across multiple organizations and platforms. How do I get organized and simplify my financial life?

    Icon Image
    Managing Risk

Life's risks can reveal themselves in many ways – from loss of life to loss of health. How do I protect myself and my family from life's unknowns?

    Icon Image
    Professional Portfolio Management

I have so many things I want to do with my life. How can one investment strategy balance them all?

    Icon Image
    Socially-Responsible Investing

Is there a way to incorporate my personal values into the way I invest without giving up performance?

    Icon Image
    Charitable Giving

Are my charitable donations having the impact I want them to have?

    Icon Image
    Growing Older

Given extended life expectancy, how do I make certain I can afford the health services I may need?

We Work With People Who Care About Living Socially Responsible Lives

What that means differs by person. When we work together, we talk about your values and the impact you want to make with you money and your life. Part of how we create that impact is by using sustainable investments.

Why Sustainable Investing?

Futurists paint striking and sometimes divergent pictures of the world in 2050. On the one hand, technology will empower us to harness scarce resources more efficiently than ever; transform health care delivery, and lift millions out of poverty. On the other hand, a population of nearly 10 billion people may intensify competition for natural resources and food, overcrowd urban infrastructure, accelerate climate change and increase economic disparities.

The prognostications may sound remote, but they depict a world that is less than 30 years away - a time frame short enough to affect anyone who is raising young children, planning for retirement, or just beginning a career.

We believe that the global challenges we face in the decades ahead pose critically important questions not only for society at large but also for each of us as individuals, citizens, parents, leaders and policymakers. And for our clients, these challenges are likely to present significant implications for their financial goals and investment decisions.

    Icon Image
    Broad-Based Sustainability

Exposure to companies from all sectors and industry groups that reflect the best environmental practices relative to industry peers, invest in companies with sustainable practices, including efficient natural resource use and efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

    Icon Image
    Climate Action

Investments in companies with products and services targeting key sustainability goals and climate solutions. Focus on investable themes that seek to improve climate change mitigation and/or adaption solutions.

    Icon Image
    Fossil Fuel Awareness

Eliminate or reduce exposure to companies producing coal, oil and nuclear energy or owning significant fossil fuel reserves or bottom environmental performers.

    Icon Image
    Gender Lens

Avoid exposure to companies with poor gender diversity records while seeking companies with leading gender diversity records, including strong policies and programs, diverse board of directors and senior management.

    Icon Image
    Improving Lives

Investment focused on enterprises that deliver positive impact such as alleviating poverty and promoting community development.

    Icon Image
    Inclusive Workspace

Focus on companies or funds seeking to create an inclusive workspace through channels such as workplace equity, access to capital, and work/life balance programs.

1When Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, its affiliates and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and Private Wealth Advisors (collectively, “Morgan Stanley”) provide “investment advice” regarding a retirement or welfare benefit plan account, an individual retirement account or a Coverdell education savings account (“Retirement Account”), Morgan Stanley is a “fiduciary” as those terms are defined under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended (“ERISA”), and/or the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (the “Code”), as applicable. When Morgan Stanley provides investment education, takes orders on an unsolicited basis or otherwise does not provide “investment advice”, Morgan Stanley will not be considered a “fiduciary” under ERISA and/or the Code. For more information regarding Morgan Stanley’s role with respect to a Retirement Account, please visit www.morganstanley.com/disclosures/dol. Tax laws are complex and subject to change. Morgan Stanley does not provide tax or legal advice. Individuals are encouraged to consult their tax and legal advisors (a) before establishing a Retirement Account, and (b) regarding any potential tax, ERISA and related consequences of any investments or other transactions made with respect to a Retirement Account. Individuals should consult their tax advisor for matters involving taxation and tax planning and their attorney for matters involving trust and estate planning, charitable giving, philanthropic planning and other legal matters.

2The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) aware investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because ESG criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
