Who We Serve

We work with families whose lives and assets often cross borders. Our clients include owners and founders, families preparing for a liquidity event, families with children or residences in the United States, families managing wealth across generations, families with cross-border planning considerations, families seeking deeper coordination among advisors, families who value discretion, cultural fluency, and institutional support.

We are intentionally focused in the number of families we serve, so we can provide senior attention, planning depth, and disciplined follow-through.

Our Clients Include:
  • Global families navigating life transitions
  • Families spanning multiple generations
  • Families preparing for a liquidity event
  • Families with children or residences in the United States
  • Entrepreneurs & Business Owners

How We Help

We begin with the family, not the portfolio.

Before making recommendations, we seek to understand the full picture: What is changing? Who is affected? What decisions are urgent? What decisions can wait? Which advisors need to be involved? What risks are visible? What risks are being missed? What does the family want this wealth to make possible?

From there, we help build a coordinated plan and follow through with care.

    Comprehensive Wealth Management

We help families organize their financial lives across investments, liquidity needs, lending, risk, estate planning strategy, philanthropy, and long-term family objectives.

    Life Transition Planning

Major life events often create the need for clearer structure. We help families prepare for and navigate transitions such as business sales, relocation, inheritance, succession, divorce, marriage, and next-generation planning.

    Cross-Border Coordination

When family members, assets, advisors, and obligations span countries, coordination becomes essential. We help families align priorities and work with their legal, tax, and other professional advisors.

    Family Office-Style Organization

For complex families, wealth management is not only about portfolios. It is about process. We help organize decisions, track follow-up, and connect families to the appropriate Morgan Stanley resources.

    Next-Generation Engagement

We help families think through continuity, education, communication, and the responsibilities that come with inherited or created wealth.

The Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Advantage

As part of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Team 55 East can draw on the firm's global resources, investment capabilities, lending solutions, alternative investments, trust and estate planning strategies, philanthropic services, family governance resources, and specialist network. For families with significant complexity, access is not enough. The resources must be coordinated around the family's actual life.

That is where our team focuses.
Wealth & Estate Planning Strategies (WEPS)
Wealth and Estate Planning Strategists (WEPS) help clients and Financial Advisors with Trust, Tax & Estate (TTE) planning. To do so, it is critical to create a TTE implementation in combination with a TTE strategy. TTE implementation helps drive the success of the TTE strategy by delineating between what must be executed and what might be executed.

7Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan's investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan's flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan's investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state's own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state's tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan.
