Kimberly Emerson

It took more than just brains. Years of study, student loans, and sleep deprivation have paid off. Healing was always the goal, not an exceptional income. That welcome unintended result has come with countless benefits, along with some side effects.
A very comfortable income early in your career may have enabled you to get by without having to gain expertise in personal or business finance. However, as a physician you understand the importance of specialized training and experience. My mission is to lend you my training and experience to ensure that your stream of income lasts as long as possible and is used efficiently and effectively to help grow your wealth for the future. Our goal is to provide you and your family with options as you near retirement age, ranging from practicing for as long as you'd like to selling your practice and devoting yourself to other interests and pursuits.
Solutions We May Consider:
Whether you became an entrepreneur early on or turned to it as a second act after another successful career, you've likely been pouring most of your time and energy into growing the business. At some point you may find much of your wealth concentrated and illiquid, tied up in the value of your business.
In order to prepare for launching another business, your own retirement, or your family's future, there may come a time when you'll need to tap into the wealth you've built through your business. That can also mean developing succession plans that may involve family dynamics as well as finances.
As an advisor to you and your family I'll be striving to help you balance your personal interests and the business's interests. We'll be looking to maximize the wealth you're able to draw from the business while helping minimize the tax ramifications. We'll also be trying to determine whether the business should remain in the family or be sold to outside parties or perhaps employees.
Solutions we may consider:
I believe that those of us who have achieved success should give back to our communities both through our time and our donations.
Having benefited from scholarships and internships, I'm called to do what I can to help at-risk youth and families. I'm currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Buckeye Ranch, one of our county's leading providers of emotional, behavioral and mental health services for children, young adults and families. I'm Vice-Chair of the Board of Community for New Direction, which is dedicated to preventing the youthful use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, as well as violence by youth in our communities. Most recently I've joined the Board of Trustees of St. Stephen's Community House, which provides health care and nutrition to families at risk.
Most of my clients share my drive to repay their communities for the support they received early in their lives. Drawing on my own experiences and my planning training, I'm able to help them manage their own philanthropic efforts and pass along the blessings of charitable giving to their family members.
