About
Chandra Platt is a Morgan Stanley-credentialed Financial Planning Specialist in San Luis Obispo, California.
Although a native Floridian, Chandra spent much of her adult life at the heart of Wall Street in New York City. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2015, she utilized her degrees in Industrial and Fashion Design; working on a number of projects with high-profile brands. With an entrepreneurial background, including experience in leadership, goal mapping and design thinking. Chandra brings a distinctive set of skills involved in creating financial solutions. Her diverse background provides a basis of understanding and openness when approaching all situations and their inherent complexities.
Her commitment to a high level of service is apparent through her dedication to educating her clients, continuously learning about industry developments, and the resulting dynamic strategies relevant to the current economic climate. Her process involves collaborating with clients to gain an understanding of all financial needs, goals and values. Supported by Morgan Stanley's leading research capabilities and network of specialists, she subsequently develops a custom-tailored financial plan and investment strategy, structured towards achieving financial goals that build and protect wealth.
Outside of the office, Chandra enjoys spending time with her husband Chris, their cat and three dogs--who are all rescues. She enjoys training the dogs and teaching them new skills. As a family, they enjoy being active outdoors, practicing wilderness skills (or "survival skills") and pursuing creative projects together. Their current project is rehabilitating and improving the severely neglected home and property they purchased. Chandra has been able to apply her design skills and has been studying arboriculture and native botany to considerately restore the overgrown, densely wooded property. She left NYC a skilled urban cyclist, & has acquired a full-suspension mountain bike to challenge herself on the local landscape.

My investment approach is a 4-step process, built off of a foundational financial plan specific to each client. Financial advice is specific to you.
1. Discover
Our initial conversations will focus on who you are as a person, as well as an investor and what you want your wealth to accomplish. We'll explore what those goals are, what steps you've taken to pursue them and what obstacles you fear might be standing in your way.
2. Devise a Plan
Analysis of your current financials and future goals will inform cohesive financial picture and guide a goals-based financial plan. This includes tangible recommendations for helping to achieve what's most important to you and your family.
We focus first on immediate needs and goals but always keep longer-term objectives in mind. Your plan will give you an idea of where you stand versus what you hope to achieve, if your aspirations are realistic, and direction to help pursue them.
3. Implement
We will invest according to your plan. Your investment strategy will include a customized asset allocation for each of the goals you prioritized. Asset Allocation does not assure a profit or protect against loss in declining financial markets. Investments are only one aspect of a comprehensive plan. Depending on the needs it uncovers, we may work with attorneys, tax advisors and Morgan Stanley professionals in such disciplines as trusts, lending and insurance to address such issues as planning your estate, restructuring debt and protecting you and your family from unforeseen circumstances.
4. Monitor and Adapt
Continuous review and adjustments are made. Change is certain in life. My role is to help navigate change and empower your financial decisions as they evolve.
