Welcome

For nearly two decades, I’ve focused on long-term wealth management for high net worth individuals and their families, as well as their respective trusts, estates, foundations, endowments and pension plans. My strength is in helping you to achieving your success by using my ability to translate the unique language of finance and financial analysis. I help a select clientele sort through the complexities and potential confusion that many of us experience as we progress through life’s numerous transitions.

My knowledge, experience and credentials allow me to employ a comprehensive wealth management approach – one that looks at the total fabric of your life. As a driven individual, and one focused on bringing my best to my clients, I have spent my career obtaining designations and continuing education in order to better serve my clients. In addition, I am an author of six books, including a book on retirement, and a frequent guest and contributor on radio and television regarding financial issues.

Clients say that I go above and beyond when it comes to my comprehensive and detail-oriented approach to wealth management and financial planning. An extremely effective communicator, my goal is to engage with you frequently about matters that are top of mind in your life. In that way, my advice and direction comes not just from market expertise and experience, but from listening to you.

I’d like to say that once we’ve built your financial roadmap, the journey to joy and abundance is clear and direct. Unfortunately, life has a funny way of throwing a curve in the road when you’re least expecting it. And in the midst of the crisis, you are often forced to make critical decisions under pressure, which you may regret in the future.

I provide comprehensive financial planning when you are changing locations and jobs, planning for your retirement, entering into marriage, going through divorce, or grieving the loss of a loved one. I have advanced credentials and experience in planning for the issues and stages of retirement, whether you are in the building phase of accumulating retirement wealth or making the transition to generating income from your assets. And, I work closely with your trusted tax and legal advisors on all matters, especially during times of transition.

I consider it an honor when my clients trust me with their fears of the future during times of transition. My goal is to provide you with the resources you need to look holistically at the big picture of a significant life event. I’ve developed a healthy respect for the myriad variables that accompany each transition, and the need to help you successfully navigate the situation with compassion and competence.

I work from the perspective that you have all the internal resources you need inside of you to successfully navigate whatever changes life throws at you. I draw on my credentials, my experience and my communication strengths to empower you to follow your heart as you consciously steer your life into unknown futures. And, in the process, I hope you will find inspiration, a new sense of purpose, peace of mind and a higher level of personal power.

1Morgan Stanley offers a wide array of brokerage and advisory services to its clients, each of which may create a different type of relationship with different obligations to you. Please consult with your Financial Advisor to understand these differences.

2Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC (“Morgan Stanley”), its affiliates and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors or Private Wealth Advisors do not provide tax or legal advice. Clients should consult their tax advisor for matters involving taxation and tax planning and their attorney for legal matters.

3Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC (“Morgan Stanley”), its affiliates and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors or Private Wealth Advisors do not provide tax or legal advice. Clients should consult their tax advisor for matters involving taxation and tax planning and their attorney for legal matters.

4Tax laws are complex and subject to change. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC (“Morgan Stanley”), its affiliates and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and Private Wealth Advisors do not provide tax or legal advice and are not “fiduciaries” (under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code or otherwise) with respect to the services or activities described herein except as otherwise provided in writing by Morgan Stanley and/or as described at www.morganstanley.com/disclosures/dol . Individuals are encouraged to consult their tax and legal advisors (a) before establishing a retirement plan or account, and (b) regarding any potential tax, ERISA and related consequences of any investments made under such plan or account.

5Fixed Income investing entails credit risks and interest rate risks. When interest rates rise, bond prices generally fall.

6An investment in an exchange-traded fund involves risks similar to those of investing in a broadly based portfolio of equity securities traded on exchange in the relevant securities market, such as market fluctuations caused by such factors as economic and political developments, changes in interest rates and perceived trends in stock prices. The investment return and principal value of ETF investments will fluctuate, so that an investor's ETF shares, if or when sold, may be worth more or less than the original cost.

7Income generated from an investment in a municipal bond is generally exempt from federal income taxes. Some income may be subject to state and local taxes and to the federal alternative minimum tax. Capital gains, if any, are subject to tax.

8Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC (“Morgan Stanley”), its affiliates and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and Private Wealth Advisors do not provide tax or legal advice. Clients should consult their tax advisor for matters involving taxation and tax planning and their attorney for matters involving trust and estate planning and other legal matters.

9Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
