About Benjamin A Lanphar
For over 20 years, I have been helping families reach their financial goals.
Oftentimes, as I grew up in Vancouver, Washington, my grandfather and I would watch his favorite show together, “The Nightly Business Report.” Realizing that I liked the show's content, my grandfather cultivated my interest. His tutelage culminated in a trip to see his financial advisor when I was ten years old. It was at that meeting that I took my tiny savings and procured my first stock. Thus began a lifelong interest in the inner workings of the financial markets.
I opened a wealth management practice at a financial advisory firm in Gresham, Oregon in January of 2000. As a Financial Advisor, the core tenet of my practice is to go beyond simply providing sound investment advice. The right investments matter, yes. But a great financial plan does not come solely from knowing investments; it comes from knowing you. My clients and I often have conversations you might not expect from a Financial Advisor, having less to do with the details of asset allocation strategy and more to do with the details of your life. By getting to know you, I can develop a wealth management strategy aimed at helping you grow and preserve your wealth.
Over time, my business has grown. Needing the ability to do more for my clients, I moved my practice to Morgan Stanley in the fall of 2007. My clients now have access to the tools, resources, and research of one of the largest financial firms in the world.
I have twin 14-year-olds who keep most of our free time occupied. When I do get a free moment, I enjoy fishing the Northwest’s rivers, cooking for family and friends, and music.

About Michael Bruce Julian
Michael B Julian is a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager. He has nearly 30 years of experience in personal wealth management. He holds a Certified Financial Planner designation from American College. He has been with Morgan Stanley since 1993.
Michael knew he wanted to be a financial advisor while attending High School. However, believing someone would have to be born into money or from New York, he pursued a different direction: Electronics Technician and Nuclear Power Reactor Operator in the US Navy. After serving 8 years in the Navy, he accepted a job at a local nuclear power plant that was shut-down shortly after he started. Michael decided to make the transition to Financial Advisor and has never looked back on his decision.
Michael loves working with people and earning their trust each and every day. He is a big believer in the firm’s core values of acting with integrity to deliver first‐class business in a first‐class way. Transparency and education are cornerstones of his practice. He utilizes a comprehensive wealth management process to develop actionable plans tailored to individual situations. Johnna is a Portfolio Associate with the Bridgecrest Group at Morgan Stanley. Johnna is responsible for various forms of operational and administrative support for both financial advisors and clients, which includes providing pertinent information for advisors, helping resolve client inquiries/requests, providing paperwork and transaction details and coordinating meetings.

Matthew Putterman is a Planning Associate at Morgan Stanley providing dedicated financial planning support to Financial Advisors and their teams. Operating as an extension of the FA/Team, he collaborates with clients to discover and define goals that matter most to them. Leveraging state of the art technology, he will evaluate various options and their potential outcomes to help clients confidently choose the appropriate course of action.
